Prologue
Christmas is near and the frostbite wind blowing away dead leaves off the park and streets. She wore a turtle neck shirt and a black and white scarf. A fourteen year old girl turns to look at her big brother before running off to school. She smiles and walks out the door, her big brother waves his hand and smiles back. The girl has no idea it’ll be the last she sees him.
Blood dripping. A broken body on the floor. The girl screams in terror and crumples to the bloody floor, staining her hands and knees with blood. Police sirens. Camera flashes everywhere. The world around her noisy and loud but for her time stops and everything is silent. She sobs quietly lamenting over her dead brother’s body.
“You said you’d ever leave me, fucking liar” she mumbled to herself and walked away from the scene leaving a letter drenched in blood along with her joyful memories.
Everything breaks and everywhere is surrounded by evil. Darkness escapes from the apartment and joining into the dark night.
Chapter One: Outcast
Four years later
Allea Cross walks along the sidewalk. The sun already down and the city lit by city lights and street lamps. Someone came up behind her, touching her shoulder. She looks behind her with an emotionless face.
“What do you want Bryan?” she sighed irritated.
It was Bryan Melark, her childhood friend and a classmate. He had dark navy blue eyes shining and his black hair in a ponytail. Allea’s eyes looked to his right and saw a girl whose eyes were shining amber gold. Allea knew the girl, she was Michelle Drake.
“You brought along Michelle as always I see” Allea turned to stare at Michelle.
They we’re always together, Allea thought, but then again it was the three of them who we’re always together but then things changed. She changed.
“Allea are you listening?” Bryan snapped his fingers multiple times, getting Allea’s attention.
“No” Allea responded bluntly and turned around to walk away, but Michelle caught her hand making her face them both.
“Allea, you skipped school again” Michelle pouted. Allea simply stared at her coldly.
“Mind your own business Michellel” Allea yanked her hand away giving an annoyed look.
“She’s just concern” Bryan defended looking into Allea’s eyes with intense annoyance while trying to stay calm. Allea’s eyes we’re scarlet red, they we’re in deed beautiful even in the dark but now they’re just empty. Allea’s soul seemed to have been eaten by her own sadness and despair. Bryan thought, feeling a bit sorry for his friend.
“Who told you to talk? I didn’t ask for your concern anyway” Allea raised her voice.
“Allea!” Michelle raising her voice as well. It surprised Allea. Michelle was timid but for her to raise her voice like that made Allea a bit amused. Allea held Michelle by the chin and pulled her near her face.
“Ohh, maybe if you entertained me with Bryan here I’ll change my mind” Allea smirked mischievously that made Michelle shudder making her back away.
“That’s so inappropriate Allea.” Bryan sighed, while pulling Michelle by his side.
“Anyway, here I took notes for you if you decide to change your mind and come back to school” Bryan said, handing out the files of paper. It seems he took down a lot, Allea thought.
