Chapter Eight: Mourning

It was weeks when Bryan passed away. It was hard for all of us especially Michelle. She didn’t even come to school today. Everyone didn’t even noticed Bryan missing. No one knew him. I guess every one didn’t think he was important and that’s what I’m angry about. He cared so much for others and yet nobody even noticed he existed. Bryan Melark an annoying stupid kid who I met in the sand box when we we’re just kids. He could have made friends with anyone with that personality but he picked me.

“Don’t you even notice Bryan missing!” Allea suddenly screamed in the classroom scaring her classmates and teacher. She was so angry, she didn’t care if she’s making a fool out of herself. Allea’s classmates began murmuring at each other. She walked out of the classroom, with grimace on her face.

Allea walked into the squatter area of the city.

Dogs and cats were fighting in the corner, rubbish everywhere, It smelled like trash, piss and shit combined, drunk gamblers throwing empty bottles of liquor at each other, slutty women even coming out of daylight.

She turned into an alley and found herself in front of a rusty door filled with inappropriate words and vandals. Allea stopped by Bryan’s parents’ house. It was a little run down. She pressed the buzzer and a woman with gray hair and a mean look peeped through the door.

“You from the government?” she asked. Allea looked surprise.

“No, I’m Bryan’s friend” Allea said calmly.

“Great, take that monster with you and never come back here again!” the old woman said slamming the door on her.

Allea gritted her teeth in anger and her eyes flaring scarlet. She kicked the door hard and banged on the door as loud as she could. The old woman opened it again but before she opened her mouth.

“You fucking assholes Bryan don’t even deserve parents like you! Go to hell bitch!” Allea yelled at the top of her lungs and walked away, and left the old woman shocked and crying.

Bryan was always smiling. He always had that idiotic face even in the moment I met him. He was smiling. He had a hard life like I had but he still keeps on smiling. He was positive and that’s what I find interesting about him and it was I… I pushed him away yet he keeps coming back along with Michelle.

She depressingly walked back to the city and arrived at the outskirt of the city. She climbed up a hill where they buried Bryan. The church wouldn’t allow him to be buried in a cemetery since he wasn’t baptized.

Baptized my ass, in the end everyone’s evil.

Bryan Mellark

You’ll be forever in our hearts.

A hero and a friend.

Allea knelt down on the grass. Allea could smell the faint scent of flowers that were left there. After Bryan died the immortals with the sorcerers held a small ceremony for Bryan. They were the only ones.

You never gave up on me, whenever I pushed you guys away you would always come back. I kept whining about my life, how it was tragic yet yours was worse but you kept on smiling. Why?

“Damn it Bryan! Come back to us!” Allea slammed her fists on the grass. She concealed her face when tears started falling and she couldn’t hold back anymore.

“Michelle’s waiting. Don’t let her cry like that” Allea sobbed, her voice was breaking.

“Come back you idiot, I haven’t apologized to you yet” Allea crumpled on the grass, her tears falling nonstop.
