(A/N Before you read this look up the sound a dove makes and listen to it. It'll help with the story.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been a calm day so far. I had chosen a new spot to fish from and I had caught a boat-full of fish in the last couple days, so I was feeling pretty good. I had taken a chance on this new spot. Everyone who was close to me said things like,
"Tanaka, you shouldn't go fishing there! It's said to be cursed!"
"Tanaka, you won't find any fish and you'll go broke!"
"Tanaka, don't go there! It's stupid!"
If I went broke who cared. All I really needed was my boat and fishing pole and I would be fine.
I was just about to pack up and go home when over the side of my boat I saw a ginormous fish tail. It had to belong to a fish at least 6 feet long. My fishing pole wasn't going to be sufficient if I wanted to catch it so I reeled in my line and grabbed my net.
The fish made another pass and I got a better look at the tail. It looked almost identical to a koi. The scales were navy with orange spots and extremely shiny. At the top of the tail I saw something strange.
Is that human skin?
I leaned over the boat to try and get a better look and saw something coming to the surface. I readied my net to see if I could catch this... fish?
I was surprised when I saw a human face appear above the water. To be honest it was quite pretty. Their chocolate brown eyes met my gray ones. I felt a slight heat rise to my cheeks.
"Hey, are you ok? Do you need help?" I asked, putting down my net.
They shook their head and made a noise that sounded identical to the coo of a dove. They reached their hand above the water and grabbed the side of my boat, pulling themselves up. They rested their arms on the side of the boat and stared at me intently.
They made another dove noise and started to run their hand across the side of the boat. Staring at it like it was the most interesting thing in the world.
I took the opportunity to get a better look at him. His brown hair was styled nicely despite him just coming out of the water. I also noticed that he had a sort of brand on his left shoulder. It read:
*6*
I peeked around the side of the boat to try and get a look at their bottom half. When I realized it was the fish tail from earlier I had to stifle a scream.
How is that possible?! Merpeople don't exist!
I was snapped out of my thoughts by a high-pitched trill. I looked back to see the merperson looking at me with a confused expression. It tilted it's head to the side and made it's eyes go wide.
I suddenly felt a pull towards the creature, like it was the death star's tractor beam and I was the millennium falcon.
When I was only a foot or two away from them they reached out their hand and touched my face. Their hand felt slimy but strangely warm. Their touch was inviting and I couldn't get enough of it. They ran their hand over every feature, finally landing on my lips. They took their thumb and gently pried my lips apart, before letting go and bringing their hand down to my forearm.
I just stood there like a statue while all of this happened. It's touch was addictive, even in the brief moment that they transferred their hand from my face to my arm I felt strangely cold, like it was the middle of winter again.
They continued to run their hand over my arm, stopping occasionally to give a small squeeze.
They used a combination of me and the boat to lift themselves up so that their entire top half was above the side of the boat. I heard the low trickle of water drip off it's tail.
I'm just glad it didn't take it's hand off my arm.
It took it's hand off my arm and moved it to my chin, tilting it slightly downwards. I looked to see that it's eyes were half-lidded and seemed to glow. Suddenly it shot forward and connected our lips roughly. I heard a low growl come from it's throat. It felt as though I was slowly being eaten alive. I loved it.
The kiss felt intoxicating, almost like a drug. It felt as if there was an endless supply of honey and sweets just within my reach and it was the only way I could get it.
I reached my arms up and put them on either side of it's face, effectively holding him up. They took their hand from my chin and put it back on my forearm.
I don't know how long we stayed like that but I soon felt something bite down on my lip, and hard. A taste of iron mixed in with the honey and pulled me back to reality. I tried to back away from the creature but they had a firm grip on my arm. It did't seem like it would be letting go anytime soon.
I tried once again to pull away but felt something sharp stab into my arm. Five sharp things to be precise.
I turned my eyes down to see that it's fingernails had turned into claws and were deeply embedded in my arm. I saw blood start to trickle from where they dug their claws in.
I felt my heart rate quicken at the sight of my own blood. There was only one thought going through my head.
Get it off me.
I tried to use my free arm to pry it off me but their grip was firm. As I lost more and more blood I started to go into a panic mode.
Get it off me. Get it off me. GET IT OFF ME.
In my panic I hadn't noticed that it's eyes had turned from the soft chocolate brown to a bright ruby red.
All of a sudden they pushed themselves off the side of the boat, pulling me into the water with them. Before I could let out a scream I hit the water with a loud splash. I hadn't taken a breath before I was pulled under so I was going in with no oxygen.
No matter how hard I fought I couldn't get away from their steel grip. They pulled me farther and farther away from the surface.
The blood loss mixed with the lack of oxygen made me feel light headed. I felt my eyes start to close and the last thing I saw before I blacked out were two red, unforgiving eyes.
I can't tell you guys how fun this was to write. Like i'm supposed to be writing the last chapters to "Starstruck" and I did this instead.
Have a nice day/night!
