I could feel Fives hand slipping from my grip. As his hand departed from mine, I began spinning violently. I squeezed my eyes shut, only wanting for this to be over.
A couple seconds later, I was thrown to the ground and out of the ball of energy. I opened my eyes and squinted slightly, due to the amount of light that was bearing down on me in that moment.
After my eyes adjusted to the light and I didn't notice anybody around me, I panicked.
"Five?!" I yelled.
I pushed myself to my feet and stumbled into the brick wall beside me. My head was on a swivel and I looked around for the rest of The Umbrella Academy.
"Allison? Klaus?" I cried frantically.
The energy ball disappeared and that was it, my family was gone.
My mouth fell open and I shook my head in shock. I stumbled backwards and onto the sidewalk. I turned around and looked around at the street before me.
Shit.
We messed up.
The cars and buildings were definitely not from the 21st century. I walked down the sidewalk in a daze before coming across a newspaper stand. I snatched one of the papers up and read the date that was written across the top.
December 14, 1962
"Holy shit," I muttered, my eyes widening.
I shook my head slightly before turning away from the stand and walking down the sidewalk. There was a constant ringing in my ears and my eyes couldn't seem to focus on anything I came across.
"What are you doing out here?"
I looked to my left where there was a old woman racing down the steps of a brick building. She was dressed in a habit and had a scowl on her face.
"Oh, no- I'm not,"
Before I could finish my sentence, the woman had grabbed my arm aggressively and began bringing me into the building.
"Hey! I'm not apart of this-,"
"How many times do we have to tell you girls not to stray outside? Next time you'll get a smack, I'm telling you!" the nun snapped.
She pushed open the doors to the building and led me inside. The doors slammed behind me and I turned to look at the place.
We were standing in a large entrance hall. There were two large windows on the sides and at the end there was a doorway with stairs on the other side of it.
The nuns nails dug into my arm and I winced slightly. She continued dragging me along throughout the building before we ended up at the foot of the stairs.
"Go to the beds. If I see you out again today, you'll be getting the strap. That's a promise," She snapped, pointing her finger at me.
She turned to walk away but I shook my head.
"Hey! I don't belong here. I don't even have a bed!" I informed the woman.
She turned around and looked at me sternly.
"So, you're new here, are you?" she asked. "Well, I'll get you your bedding and clothes and then you'll be up in the dorms for the rest of the day. Just because it's Christmas season, doesn't mean you can do as you please,"
The nun walked around a counter and pulled out a pile of sheets. She then disappeared behind the counter again and pulled out a grey coloured skirt, blouse, and matching socks and shoes.
