Rose's eyes begin to water and she jumps towards me, wrapping her arms around me. "Thank god! I was so scared. I've been looking for you all day."

"Well, you found me and I'm guessing you wanna switch back?"

She unhands me and looks up toward my face. "Of course. Isn't that what you want too?"

I scoff. "And why would I wanna do that?"

Now she slowly backs away and her tears have stopped. "I don't understand..."

She slumps and I stand over her. "Listen, I don't even know how to reverse the spell."

"Spell?"

"All you need to know is that it worked and that I'm perfectly happy being you, so I have no intention of reversing it."

Once again her eyes fill up with tears; however, they drip down slowly rather than gush like they did earlier. "But there's so much I have to do. What happens to everything I've worked for?"

"Take an overdue break and leave all of that to me."

"But I miss my family and friends! Please, I'm begging you. Give me my life back." She falls to her knees, head down, hands struggling to keep her stable as they're pushed to the floor.

"It's no use. I'm not falling for those crocodile tears. I know you're just desperate because you don't wanna live another day as Rose."

"What are you talking about?"

"C'mon there's no need for you to lie. You had everything but now you have nothing."

Her hands clenched into fists. "So you're saying I deserve to be stripped down to nothing? I know I was born with more than most, that's why I've worked hard on earning my own achievements so that I don't need to rely on my background forever!"

"How admirable. Well then you can look at what I've done as a favor to you. With absolutely nothing, you can build yourself up to be something."

Her legs extend off of the ground and she stands on her tippy toes to glare at me square in the eyes. "I won't step aside while you try to steal everything away from me. You wanna be me? Fine! From now on I'll live as you and make your life a living hell."

I bite my tongue attempting to retort but fail and leave her with the last word. She spun around on her heels and left the bathroom, her back facing me. The bell rings and I trudge upstairs to class.

I head down the hall towards the room and notice a pretty girl standing next to the door. I stand up straight and confident as I get close. She may be pretty but I'm beautiful. I pass by her but before I can enter she taps me on the shoulder. "Hey you didn't notice me?" She sounds like a valley girl.

"Sorry I've been dozing off all day."

"Wow that's strange for you. You're always on top of everything."

Not this again. "So is there something you need or did you wanna just say hi?"

Her eyes open slightly with shock and irritation. "All I wanted to ask was what I should make for the fundraiser."

"Which fundraiser?"

"The one at your house..."

"Of course that's what it is!" I slap my forehead. "Duh, see what I meant when I said I've been dozing off."

"Uh-huh. So should I make cookies or cupcakes? Of course they'll be gluten and nut free."

"You should make cookies. I'll see you there!"
