Honestly, Whitehall didn't scare Drew. To her, he was just a guy with friends in high places. By himself, he didn't have more than a large vocabulary and calm hands under pressure. Drew walked into Whitehall's office in a hidden Hydra base. She had no problem finding the base, without Whitehall's help. She had her sources. As Drew walked into his office, she felt a gun being pressed against the back of her head. Drew put up her hands and cooly said, "Hello, Mr. Whitehall. I didn't really expect this kind of introduction." "Desperate times call for desperate measures. I don't know who I can trust." Whitehall said. Drew turned around to face her employer. "Thanks for the deposit." She said. "It was a small gift, to make sure you would show up." He said. "Three million is small to you? Then you must have very deep pockets." Drew said. "Yes, well, we still have a few benifactors, after the whole, Shield getting a hold of this and that. Minor trinkets, really." Whitehall said. "What I can't figure out is how you were shot point-blank in the head, but standing here talking to me." Drew said. "That took more than a few old favors to pull off, but it worked, didn't it?" Whitehall asked
"We'll see." She replied. "Why did you bring me here if all you wanted to do was brag about your renewed looks?" "I have a business proposition for you. I need you for a particularly delicate mission." Whitehall said. He walked over to his desk and sat behind it. Drew kept her eyes fixed on him. "Please, sit." he said. "I'd perfer to stand." Drew said. "Fine, here is everything you need to know." Whitehall said, handing her a file. "I've also included pasports, identities and keys to drop sites." He added. Drew took the file and flipped through its pages. "This is a risky operation. Deception, a fair amount of combat, and, wait, is this correct? A two-man op? Sorry, but i don't work with others. You know this, so why did you hire me for a two-man op?" Drew asked. "Your skills are needed for this mission, and so are his." Whitehall said. "He has extensivd knowledge on the targets, not to mention scores that are almost a good as yours." "Almost. I'm not working with a babysitter watching my every move." Drew said. She started to head towards the door, but Whitehall raised his gun again and said, "My dear, i'm not paying you for nothing. And consider it as insurance. He will make sure that you don't change loyalties on me." "Why would I do a thing like that?" Drew asked. "Because you have a notorious yrack record for doing that kind of thing." Whitehall said. "My loyalties go to the highest bidder. Currently, you are the highest bidder." Drew said. "That's good." Whitehall said. His phone buzzed. Whitehall picked it up and didn't say a word, just listened. Judging by his facial expressions, Drew could tell that someone was about to see him, and that particular person wasn't very pleased with Whitehall. He hung up the phone and said to Drew, "You might want to have a seat. A visitor is here to see me, and I might need you to, restrain, this person." "Who exactly is this 'visitor' who I might need to 'restrain'?" Drew asked. "Your new partner, Grant Ward."
