I stroll up to Hannah's door and ring the bell.
The door immediately swung open and there stood Hannah, beaming at me.
"You actually came!" she squealed.
Before I could actually say or do much of anything, she grabbed my arm and dragged me to her room. She practically threw me onto the ground and quickly shut the door. I almost tripped and fell flat on my face. Almost. Regaining balance, I dropped my bag to the floor and glared at Hannah for using such force.
"So what's so urgent to ruin my third nap of the day?" I asked. It's Saturday and I had planned my sleep schedule perfectly, but Hannah spam texted me the message "URGENT!" as if she was dying. So naturally, being the kind best friend that I am, I took my sweet time getting here, as an act of spite towards Hannah. However, she seems to not have noticed.
"Murphy asked me out!" she screeched, making me cover my ears at the deafening sound.
Is she serious? This was why she disrupted my nap?
I really wanted to control my temper seeing that Hannah was very happy and I should be happy for her, but I can't. No one messes with my sleep schedule. No one.
"Seriously Hannah? This is what you messaged me for? Why didn't you just tell me on the phone? I thought you were dying!" I yelled, my anger taking the best of me. I noticed the objects on her dresser began to rattle.
Shit. Calm down.
Hannah looked at me apologetically, "Cece I'm --"
"Save it." I snapped, my temper dying but being replaced by guilt. The rattling subsided before Hannah could look at her dresser.
I sighed, aggravated with myself. Why was I even so mad anyway? I could just sleep all day tomorrow.
"I'm sorry I snapped at you. I really am happy that you finally got together with Murphy." I said, feigning a smile.
Smiling has never been my thing, but I would do anything to keep Hannah happy, she is my best and only friend I have after all.
Hannah's smile resurfaced. I roll my eyes as I'm aware of the next statement she's waiting so intently for me to say.
"Alright, alright. Tell me the deets."
Hannah clasped her hands in excitement while I thought of how disgusting I was for saying such a word.
"Yay!" she squeals, again, forcing me to cover my ears to prevent them from exploding.
"But can we go get something to eat first? I'm starving." I say, just before my stomach lets out a low "growl".
Hannah laughs at my severe feeling of hunger. How rude.
"Where to?" She asks, still chuckling.
I open my mouth to speak, but I'm interrupted by another grumble from my belly, causing Hannah to erupt once more into a fit of giggles.
I frown and begin to leave the room, knowing that Hannah would follow right after me.
"Why did I even bother asking you, I should've just asked your belly seeing it does all the talking." Hannah snickers, as if what she said was the funniest thing in the world.
"Shut it" I say, walking at a brisk pace to get to the bakery as soon as possible, before my stomach decides to eat me.
"Slow down, I was only kidding Cece!" Hannah huffs as she sprints after me.
I hadn't noticed she was so far behind. Despite Hannah being a total goddess, the one thing she lacks is fitness, yet she still looks stunning so she doesn't need it. Hannah's flowing dark hair and tanned skin had every guy looking her way even when she didn't have any make-up on.
