(Picture above is of Elenestel's armor. The sheath on the hip holds both of her daggers)
I woke to the dawn's first light peeking in through a window. I stretched. I leaned against the door of my room. "It has been nearly seven hundred years since I have seen anyone in Lothlórien. Even my own kin." I sighed and pushed off the door.
I walked into the smaller room within mine and bathed, got dressed, and brushed my hair and teeth. I was dressed in my riding gear and leather armor. My brown suede riding pants, a green tunic, my leather armor underneath the tunic, and my elven cloak. I looked down at the elven broach, a green leaf with silver veins. I threw in an extra outfit and a gown.
I put on my riding boots and grabbed my weapons. I put my twin long daggers in the sheath on my hip, my arrows in the quiver on my back and slung my bow onto my shoulder. I set out to find the rest of the Fellowship. I closed the door behind me and headed down the hall and out to the gate.
I saddled the horse I was given. I secured the saddle and mounted him. I looked to the others. "We ride." Gandalf started off on his horse.
"We must hold this course west of the Misty Mountains for forty days. If our luck holds, the Gap of Rohan will still be open to us. There, we turn to the east, to Mordor." He instructed.
After much riding, we finally came to camp at a large rocky plain. Boromir was teaching Merry and Pippin how to use swords. "Two! One! Five! Good! Very good!" Boromir instructed as their swords clanged. Aragorn was smoking a pipe and watching them.
"Move your feet." Aragorn instructed Pippin. "That's good Pippin!" Merry encouraged him. "Thanks!" I was sitting on a rock. "Faster!" Boromir switched to Merry. My eyes wandered until I spotted him. Legolas, standing alone on a rock, looking out upon the lands.
"If anyone was to ask for my opinion, which I note they're not. I would say we're taking the long way around. Gandalf, we could pass through the Mines of Moria. My cousin Balin would give us a royal welcome." Gandalf looked into the distance. "No, Gimli. I would not take the road through Moria, unless I had no other choice."
Boromir switched again. Their swords clanged. Boromir caught Pippin with his blade. Pip dropped his sword and examined his hand. "Sorry." Boromir lowered his sword. "Get him!" Pip yelled as he kicked Boromir in the back of the leg. The two tackled him to the ground. "For the Shire! Hold him! Hold him down Merry!" They were playfully beating on him. Boromir was laughing with them. Aragorn started to laugh as well. I smiled. They reminded me of when I was a child.
I stopped smiling at the memories of my childhood. I shook my head. Legolas ran to the rock beside me and stood on it, looking up at the sky. Off in the near distance, I heard birds. Like that of crows cawing in the air. "What is that?" Sam asked, cooking sausage with a frying pan over the open fire. "Nothing. Just a wisp of cloud." Gimli said, not giving it a second thought. I stood and faced the cloud of birds to the south. "It is moving fast... Against the wind." I pointed out.
"Crebain from Dunland!" Legolas yelled. This sent everyone into a panic. "Hide! Everybody hide!" Aragorn shouted. "Merry! Pippin!" Boromir grabbed their hands and led them to safety. I jumped between a rock and the earth, sliding between the slim opening as if it were greased.
The cawing got louder as I could see the shadows of the birds on the earth, circling us overhead. They eventually flew off. I crawled out from under the rock and brushed myself off. "Spies of Saruman. The passage south is being watched. We must take the Pass of Caradhas!" Gandalf announced, looking to the snowy mountains not far in the distance.
(Hey! I know I said in the description that this would be a Legolas love story and there hasn't been much action between the two. Trust me! There will be plenty of Legostel and Elenolas in the next couple of chapters. I promise!!!)
