As morbid and sort of sickly as the shambler looked, it brought tears to her eyes. It reminded her of how close her and Ellie actually were. She knew Ellie meant no harm.

Yet she still had basically abused her. All because she felt she needed to work more than stay home? To go out in danger rather than to take care of herself and her injured girlfriend?

She knew her anger wasn't towards Ellie. Of course it wasn't. How could it be? She knew Ellie was right and that she was just concerned.

Samone knew her anger stemmed from her mother's death.

She forgot that her mother wasn't invincible, that no one was. Especially during these end times. She knew her mom was probably so disappointed with her little bitch fit. When she was alive, she used to absolutely hate it when Sam would throw one.

When the startling truth came rushing at her, she realized how much pain she really was in.

She needed to make some kind of attempt to live. If not for herself for Ellie and her late mom.

She snuck around the room in hopes of just being able to make it out of the building without the need to fight any more infected.

She crouched in shock when she made it to the door and spotted just how many infected she was actually able to bring about from her fit.

Her stomach dropped seeing the rounds of infected crawling the library. She sighed, fear filling her belly, knowing what her fate was gonna come to.

But she wasn't just gonna give up.

Samone wasn't a quitter and she sure as hell was gonna make it back to Ellie to apologize.

And it seemed her prayers were answered when she heard that beautiful grunt, amongst the moaning and groaning, she knew all too well alongside the many bullets piercing the air.

Ellie? Confusion filled her. It was her Ellie.

Ellie. My home.

Once knowing it was her for a fact, she couldn't be bothered to care about anything other than her Ellie. Her dearest Ellie.

She closed and barricaded the room that the shambler was in and prayed that she could make it to the front room safely.

"Fuck, why aren't you fucking getting it Maria? She shouldn't be out there alone. Especially not like this."

Ellie sighed, exasperated. She'd been in the room with Maria, arguing back and forth with her for what felt like days.

It'd been a few minutes after Samone raged out and Ellie had made it back to their shared room to lay down that she noticed Samone's second book bag lying on the ground where it usually does.

Her bookbag filled with all of her ammo and back up weapons.

She must have taken her "quick bag", supplied with filler items, in a rush.
