"What the fuck were you guys doing in there?"

"We heard shit from in the hangout, so we went to check it out. As soon as we went in, these random kids booked it. They destroyed everything in there. We were just taking it all in. We waited for one of you guys to come but we started to leave 'cause we didn't see anyone coming back." He paused, "I know it looks bad, but it wasn't us, I swear." Gary lied through his teeth. I swear to god, he was so convincing, I almost believed him.

The townie leader eyed us up and down as if he didn't believe the bullshit Gary just came up with.

"Y'know what Gary, If I didn't know you were a lying piece of shit, I'd believe in you." My stomach dropped along with Gary's jaw.

"What the hell? Why would I lie about something like this?"

"You have spraypaint on your hands, dipshit." Gary looked down to his hands and back up to the townie.

"Fuck it." Gary shrugged, taking a swing at the lead townie. I gasped.

The lead townie stumbled back, wiping off his face, groaning. He lunged forward, aiming to hit Gary but missing as Gary ducked out of the way, kicking out the townies feet. He went for his buddy right after, landing some good hits on him while he did the same. Without the police sirens to scare off the second guy, I don't know what would've happened.

"Stop right there, punk!" The cop shouted at Gary. Me and Gary took one look at each other before booking it. The cop was right on our heels before Gary jumped a ledge to the alleyway. I hesitated.

"Y/n, c'mon!" Gary yelled up.

I followed without thinking, a sharp pain in my ankles as I landed. Gary grabbed a hold of my hand and practically dragged me as we kept running. We went on for as long as we could before the coast was clear.

At some point in the run our hands escaped each other. Gary leant against a building, gasping for air. I was across from him, doing the same.

"Fuck" I groaned. Gary looked up at me, surprised.

"Y/n, did you just swear?" Gary asked, grinning.

"Yeah."

"I've never heard you do that." He said, astonished. "Maybe you have been spending too much time with me."

I laughed lightly, brushing hair from my face. "Can we go back to the dorms now?" I asked.

"Yeah." He concluded.

We headed back, laughing along the way about the cops and townies.

"I didn't know you had that much fight in you Gary. Are you like, extra energetic today or something?" I asked.

"I don't know, but those townies sure ate shit!" He laughed.

"For real." I paused. "I cant believe you made me jump off of that stairway."

"That was a huge drop, I don't know how we didn't break our ankles!"

"Mine felt like they broke!"

"Maybe they did and you're just in shock right now." Gary tested.

"Shut up, that wouldn't happen." I laughed.

"I dunno." He shrugged.

"Gary?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you actually going to help me with my homework this time or are you gonna ditch again."

He paused, really thinking about it. A look of guilt appeared on his face as he rubbed the back of his neck. Guilt, in Gary? That was certainly an unfamiliar sight.
