~Chapter 1~
A cigarette danced through lean fingers. Freckles connected by inked lines to make constellations, made by a bored mind, a coping mechanism perhaps. Smoke illuminated by streetlights in the night sky, curling through wind drifts. Pale, freckled legs swung over the side of a roof, sneakers tattered and too small for the feet they reside on.
Fingers brushed through knotting hair, the cigarette discarded. The boy watched, with eyes of toxic green, as late night drinkers stumbled home in a daze, hitting trash cans and tripping over curbs. His legs stopped swinging with the slam of a nearby door, and he scrambled through a window, all previous eerie elegance gone. His father was home.

Bruises littered creamy white skin, glimpses of which you could only see if you looked long enough. Swaying to an unknown song Izuku stood on the packed train, a tattered yellow backpack sitting by his legs. Sooner than expected he was dragging his feet on the ground towards UA grounds. Entrance exam day, he was thrilled! Note the sarcasm, he didn't want to be here, near heroes, but disobeying his father was never an option.
Excited chittering of nearby students worked its way through his headphones, and in response he turned them up louder. Izuku watched in morbid fascination as a random (npc) tripped on a loose brick and fell flat on their face. He chuckled to himself slowly, heading through the gates walking right past an oblivious Katsuki. His hair, which had not been brushed properly in a few days, was tied in a bun. He pulled at loose strands absentmindedly, lighting a cigarette before heading inside the testing hall.
Wary, concerned looks are shot his way as he sits in a far corner, smoke swirls around him as he slowly turns his music down. Focusing his attention on the stage in the far front of him, stares linger but not for very long, as the loudest man Izuku has ever heard ambles his way on stage with a confidence that nobody alive should have.
The man screamed out into the crowd, hurting Izuku's ears, he turned up his music a tad bit louder, and tugged on the ends of his jacket. Suddenly,sSomeone standing up before the speech/introduction was to be over caught Izuku's attention, a blue haired smartly dressed boy stood with aggression, waving his hands about like an idiot, shouting above scattered whispers to the man on the stage. He didn't give the boy much thought until said boy turned and started shouting at him, pausing his music and pulling the headset down to his neck, Izuku looked nonchalantly at the boy shouting at him for being offensive and disrespectful, telling him he was not hero like, ect. Izuku leaned forward in his seat abruptly, startling the boy and effectively stopping his rant.
"I'm sorry, you have mistaken me for someone who wants to be here, but on behalf of the students who wish to pursue a hero career, would you kindly shut up?" Izuku's voice was raspy, deep and tired, the boy looked mortified, having probably never been called out for his faults, as they do in the kind of prissy private academy the boy had probably come from.If you searched the crowd for shocked faces you would find none other than Katsuki Bakugou, who could barely recognise the boy a few rows in front of him as the one he tormented for so many years.
