Highcrest academy was expecting guests. They were going to hold the 62th Inter-high games. These games were against the top 16 schools in the country. 15 of these school are private schools such as Highcrest and Ivy hearts but the one remaining school is Marble High. This school opened just the previous year but their academic records and athletic results even better than Highcrest, who were the top.
-Friday's POV-
As i am going to my favourite class if the day, english, i see a bunch of students gossiping about some inter-high event. I didn't think it would concern me but i was wrong.
When i sat down on my seat, next to a sleepy Melanie and lovestruck Abtomey, the PA system had announced that Me, Ian, Melanie and Drake should report to the headmaster's office. The four of us groaned (me, abtomey, Ian and Drake). Mainly because Ms Cannon is the only sensible teacher at this school.
-time skip to when the the four juniors made their way to the headmaster's office-
"You all must be wondering why i have called you all here"- said the headmaster.
At first the trio thought that they were in trouble but then Drake's name was also called up. So this could get interesting.
'You four will represent the juniors of High Crest at the inter high games. Barnes and Wainscott, you are the academic team, Pelly and De javu you are the sports team.' said the headmaster.
'Wouldn't that make us pairs no teams'- I said.
'You knew what I meant! Pelly you must be wondering why I chose you for the athletics team/pair.
'Is it because of my archery skills sir?' Melanie said while yawning.
'uhm, yes. Now thats cleared up. Good luck to you all and remember…'
'Don't do anything to ruin the school's reputation and keep my nose out of everybody else's business' I said monotonously.
'Yes, correct, do that.' the headmaster said. He noticed that Friday was looking weak. She was obviously hiding whatever illness she has.
'May I ask you a question sir?' Ian asked, disturbing his concerns for his favourite student (not that he would every admit that).
'Go ahead'
'Which schools are we competing against , where and when is it being held?'
'Well there are around 15 elite private schools including ours. Our biggest ally and rivals are Ivy Hearts. But then there's Marble High. They opened this year but their academic and athletic ratings are quite impressive, the worst part about that is that they aren't a private school. The press is really going to headline their victories and failures. It going to be held next week. The athletics will be held at Marble High and the academics here. But then there is the redemption rounds. These include 'art' subjects such as music, dance and well art. If you win a there you will get a wild card entry, meaning that you could still have a chance to make it into the finals. Make sense?'
They all nodded and made their way out of the office and back to English.
'Well you two are the dream team, I know you won't let us down' said a somewhat normal energised Melanie.
'I thought it was you and me, seeing as we are the ones to solve all the mysteries at Highcrest?'
'Awe, that was really sweet Friday!' with that Melanie leapt on to Friday and gave her a hug, leaving Friday uncomfortable.
'I still can't believe I was chosen for this' said Drake who was completely taken back by this 'honour'
'Well you are the second most athletic boy after me of course' Ian said smugly.
