Third Person's POV

| many years ago |

"What will it take for you to love me?"

She cried as her tears ran down her porcelain cheeks and onto his shirt, staining his clothes of the day.

"Do I have to be like my sister? Do I have to be beautiful as her? To be as gallant as she is?"

Her tears flowed faster at the thought of having to become someone else just so he could love her and choose her. While listening to her sobs and pleas, he slowly pulled her away to meet her beautiful amethyst eyes that were glistening with tears.

"If I do, then would you consider to marry me instead? Would you consider to make me your wife instead of her?" She asked with a heartbreaking smile.

He could only smile, sadly, back.

He didn't want her to change. In fact, he loved her just the way she is. She's the embodiment of perfection to him. From her enchanting smile to her heartwarming kindness.

He loves her and therefore prioritises her very being. But to do that, he must let her go.

"Even if I could, I cannot break my engagement with her."

Her eyes widened as she slowly pulled away from his grasp, her heart wrenching in pain. Millions of thoughts began to run in her mind, wondering what she did wrong for him to choose her sister.

"But why? I have been with you longer than she has. We shared memorable moments, memories!"

Her tears had stopped flowing but the cracking of her heart continued as she spoke.

She could feel her heart crack from not being able to understand why he would choose to marry someone he doesn't love.

"Forgive me."

Her eyes widened in shock by hearing those two words.

His voice sounding so desperate for her to forgive him. How painful it was for her to hear.

'I'm the one crying and asking for forgiveness for whatever I did wrong. Why?'

She watched as he turned on his heel and leave her alone. His figure becoming small and blurry until he had disappeared from her sight.

Not being able to hold herself up, she fell to her knees and tears once again gathered into her eyes.

Crystal clear tears slowly flowed down onto her cheeks. Looking down, her hands gripped the cloth of her dress, a gift from him, and bit down on her lower lip as sobs started to come out.

Her tears stained the bricked floor a darker color and her sight became blurry.

She placed a hand over her chest and felt a tightening pain in her heart.

'Why are you asking for forgiveness?'

Memories of their moments together flashed through her eyes. Every smile, every laughter, every peck, every bit of romance that bloomed between them played in her mind.

'If you loved me then why are you marrying her?'

Confusion consumed her as images of him and her sister surfaced. They looked so beautiful together, probably better than him and her.

Insecurity started to eat up her heart as what if's started to come. Did all their moments mean nothing to him? Was she just a toy he olayed with just to get her sister's attention?

Did he even love her at all?

The last question she asked herself was all it took for her to feel it. She could even hear it. Her heart shattering into tiny fragments.

Everything she and he did all just brought pain to her and she didn't like it. The feeling of being used.

And so, with a shaky voice, she whispered. "Why did you tell me you loved me?"

The cold winter air sent shivers down Seiji's spine as he journeyed back to the Church without a jacket.

Only a scarf was keeping him warm but the warmth wasn't enough to give him comfort since it lack pieces of its material to provide warmth for his whole body.

He let out a huff as he rubbed his gloved hands together to create even just a little bit of warmth.

"Just a little bit more and I can finally rest and bask in the warmth of the fire." He told himself as he wrapped his arms around his body and continued walking through the snowy ground towards the church.

A few minuted later, he had reached his destination and sighed in relief. "Finally home."

As he was about to enter he saw a basket with a purple ribbon wrapped around it and a silky black cloth over it. Above the cloth was a note.

Seihi bent down and took the note and read.

I am sorry for leaving my daughter in your doorstep but I could not provide for her as a toddler and her father would not take her in. I am unable to take care of her so please, I want her to have the best future as much as possible. Because I cannot raise her, I could only give her name and her name is Sumire.

Seiji was stunned by what he had just read and moved his gaze towards the basket.

'A baby?'

He reached a hand out to move the cloth away to see the baby and was surprised to see one. A beautiful baby girl wrapped in a white blanket was sleeping peacefully.

'How long has she been here?'

He thought as he pocketed the letter and stood up to look around. He then crouched down and took the basket in his arms and stood up.

The sudden jolt of movement woke up the baby and Seiji panicked when the baby opened her eyes and cry but she didn't. Instead of crying from being shaked awake, she stared at Seiji with bright purple eyes and then smiled.

Seiji stared in awe before shaking his head and entered the Church to provide warmth nit just for him but for the baby as well.

All through the way into the Church, the baby cooed at him for attention and he smiled. Reaching the small cabin at the back of the Church, he entered and then placed the basket on one of the chairs and then left to start a fire in the fireplace.

The baby only stared at the ceiling in confusion. Eyes darting everywhere when she couldn't find Seiji.

After the fire had started, Seiji walked over the basket and smiled at the baby that smiled one she saw him. He slowly grabbed her from her basket and held her in his chest.

He approached the chair near the fireplace so they could warm themselves up.

After taking a seat, he slowly rocked the baby in his arms. The little baby's amethyst eyes staring up at him with observing eyes madr him chuckle.

"A galaxy is in your eyes little one." Sumire only cooed and he chuckled then placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Welcome to your new home, little violet."
