Chapter 2

Hi! Really quick before you start to read this chapter! I want to know if you like the POV I am using or if you want it to be changed, I really don't mind changing it if that's what y'all prefer! That all, enjoy the story!

The next day

Everyone was staring at her, she could tell. Rumor had traveled at she had slapped the most popular boy in school.

What had she been thinking! She was still in shock, re-living that moment when she lost control.

He had mentioned her mother, but how had he known about her? She had never confided in him.

He must have overheard her talking to Angelica, she was coming to this conclusion when she ran into someone.

"Oh sorry!" She said picking up the book they had dropped. "I was lost it thought, it's my fault" she rambled giving the book to the boy who she bumped into.

He was wearing a plain white shirt and sweat pants, he also wore glasses. "It's fine, thanks for helping!"

He walked back down the hall but stopped suddenly. "Hey, your that girl who slapped Jake!" He shouted whipping around to stare at her.

"I- um, I gotta get to class" she ran down the hall and to her class. What a awful way to start the day.

"Ok class let's get started!" Mrs. Cory sang. Sarah sat in her seat and grabbed her notebook from her bag.

A few classes later it was lunch, Sarah felt more drained than usual from her classes.

It was probably due to the fact that she had not slept very well last night. She had been crying all night. Leo had come in at some point at sat with her for a couple hours.

She tried to forget yesterday's events and arrived at her locker.

Jake was once again lounging in front of it, only this time he was alone.

He walked up to her and grabbed her arm holding her in place. "Look," he looked uncomfortable "I- ugh, why is this so hard, I-" he sighed, "I'm sorry"

"What?"

"I'm sorry okay, I shouldn't have pushed you, I shouldn't have questioned you. It's obviously a sensitive subject and I am sorry I mentioned it" he was whisper yelling at her.

"Oh" she was startled by those words, "I'm sorry I slapped you" she said quietly, "I hope we can be friends"

When she said that he shook his head, "look kid, just because I said sorry doesn't mean I like you, I still hate you and that will never change"

"Got it, your majesty" she said her eyes flaring with hate "you know, I thought you might be a decent human being, but I guess a tiger never changes his stripes"

She shoved him out of the way and began to open her locker.

"Listen here little girl" he said grabbing her arm and spinning her to face him, "I still run this school, and your still just a loser. Now if you want to still have friends by the end of this conversation I suggest you lay off"

She smirked at him "will do" she went into a low bow and winked at him, putting her books in her locker.

"I can't with you" he mumbled walking away.

She smiled and closed her locker, practically skipping to the lunch room.

"Leo! I'm home!" Sarah called opening the front door.

No answer.

Leo was supposed to have taken the bus home. "Leo?" She called again putting her bag on the table and walked down the hall.

She entered her brothers room and gasped. Leo was sitting in the corner shaking, a woman was standing over him with a beer bottle in her hand.

"Stop!" She yelled grabbing her moms hand.

"Get off me girl" she said, her words slurring together. "Get off" she repeated shaking her arm.

Sarah shoved her back and stood in front of Leo "get out" she said quietly.

"This is my house you ungrateful little-"

"Get out!" she yelled slamming her foot down and trying to sound brave.

Her mom glared at her and left.

"Are you ok Leo did she hurt you?"

Leo looked up at her and started bawling, she picked him up and grabbed her phone off the floor. She hadn't realized it but she had thrown it when she saw her mother.

"Angelica? I'm really sorry to be a burden but can Leo and I stay at your place for a few days?"

"Are you ok?"

"Yes, we are ok now"

"Of course"

"Thank you so much, be over in 5"

She hung up and set Leo down on his bed "I know you're still scared but I need you to pack a bag with all of your things, please"

He nodded and got up, she walked into her room and started packing all of her clothes.

She had just finished throwing them into a suitcase when Leo walked in with a duffle bag.

"What is going on Sarah?"

"We have to go buddy, do you remember Angelica?" He nodded "good, we are going to have a fun sleepover at her house!"

He smiled and jumped up and down! "Yay! But, what will mommy do?"

Sarah looked at him and sighed "mommy is staying with some of her friends tonight and she told me that is was ok"

He smiled and walked into the living room. Sarah zipped up her suitcase and walked in after him.

They got in the car and drive off.

"Knock knock!" Sarah called pulling her suit case up the stairs to the front door. "Sarah? Is that you?" Angelica said, they could hear her footsteps inside.

"Open the door Angelica! It's freezing!" Angelica opened the door and waved them in.

"Hey bud! How are ya?" She said ruffling Leo's hair, he giggled.

"I'm great Angelica! Today at school this girl told me that she liked me!" Sarah turned to him with a shocked face.

"You never told me that!" She pick him up and bonked heads with him.

"What the heak squirt!" He giggled and said "I forgot!" She set him down and said, "go say hi to mrs and mr Bany ok?"

He nodded and ran off. Sarah slumped onto the floor. "Sarah! You ok?" Angelica sat next to her.

She couldn't make out her muffled answer and sighed.

"I can't understand you. Come on, let's go have some hot chocolate" Sarah nodded and they headed off to the kitchen.

Sarah recounted everything that had happened that night. Angelica was speechless when she finished.

"Oh my god Sarah! That is awful! I'm glad you called, y'all are free to stay as long as you like!"

"Thank you Angelica"

"Anytime" she replied taking her now empty cup. "Y'all should head off to bed, we still have school"
