Ethan opens the door of his car as I climbed in before him. He hadn't even mentioned what just happened in the elevator. The more i was thinking about it- the less real it became.

I touched my lips, and they were still swollen from the kiss. It definitely happened. I felt like a changed woman. I wanted this man desperately, and he wanted me too.

"Anastasia." he says. I scowl at him, but he ignores my expression. "What happened in the elevator - it won't happen again, well, not unless it's premeditated."

He pulls up outisde my duplex. I realized he never asked me where i lived, yet he knows. But then he sent the books, of course he knows where i live.

I couldn't stop thinking about why he wouldn't kiss me again. I just couldn't understand. He climbs out of the car as he opened the door for me. I flush at the memory of his mouth on mine, and the thought that I'd been unable to touch him enters my mind. I wanted to run my fingers through his hair, but I'd been unable to move my hands. I am so frustrated.

"I liked what happened in the elevator," I murmur as I climb out of the car. I'm not sure if I hear an audible gasp, but I choose to ignore it and walk to the front door.

Kate and Ethan's brother were sitting at our dining table. "You're Anastasia, right?" His brother walks over me with an excited look on his face. "I'm Grayson. His brother." I nod. "Really, you two look nothing like each other." Grayson giggles. Ethan always had this serious look on his face. It seemed like he never laughed.

The expensive books that Ethan had sent me have disappeared. Thank god. I have plans for them.
Kate had the most un-Kate ridiculous grin on her face, and she looks mussed up in a sexy kind of way.
Ethan follows me in the living area, and Kate eyes him suspiciously.

"Hi Ana." She leaps up to hug me, then holds me at arm's length so she can check me. She frowns and turns to Ethan.

"Good morning, Ethan." She says, and her tone was a little hostile.

"Miss Kavanagh." He says, in his stiff, formal way. It was sexy.

"Ethan. Her name is Kate," Grayson grumbles.

"Kate." Ethan gives her a polite nod and glares at Grayson, who walked over me to give me another hug. His blue eyes were twinkling, and I like him immediately. He was nothing like Ethan- but then they were adopted brothers.

"Grayson, we'd better go." Ethan says mildly.

"Sure." He turns to Kate and pulls her into his arms and gives her a long, lingering kiss.

Jeez.. get a room. I stare at my feet, embarrassed. I glanced up at Ethan, and he's watching me intently. I narrow my eyes at him. Why can't he kiss me like that? Grayson continues to kiss Kate, sweeping her off her feet and dipping her in a dramatic hold so that her hair touches the ground as he kisses her hard.

"Laters baby," he grins.

Kate just melted. I've never seen her melt before. Compliant Kate, boy, Grayson must be good. Ethan rolls his eyes at me, and stares down at me, his expression unreadable, as always, although he's kind of amused. He tucks a stray of hair that has worked its way free from my ponytail behind my ear. My breath hitches at the contact, and I lean my head into his fingers. His eyes soften, and he runs his thumb across my lower lip. And all too quickly, his touch is gone.

"Laters, baby," he murmurs, and I have to laugh because it's so unlike him. But even though I know he's joking, it still gave me some kind of butterflies, I guess.
