Try

Raven wrung her hands together, not being able to look at Rick as she sat beside Glenn recalling the way everything had gone wrong earlier that day.

"Aiden was trying to shoot a walker in military uniform... Glenn saw the grenade before any of us did... we- he wouldn't stop shooting and next thing we know everyone got blown back, Aiden got impaled by a bunch of... metals and we tried to help him..."

"He was gonna run." Glenn gulped, his eyes far away in the memory, "But we made him stay. Couldn't get Aiden out of there without help. Then when we got into the lobby..."

"All he had to do was hold the door... Glenn was supposed to break the glass- our job was to hold the door still for him," Raven's hands curled into a fist, her nails digging into her skin as her jaw clenched at the moment she still couldn't get over, "But he panicked."

"Noah..." Raven's voice shook as angry tears threatened to escape her green eyes,

"We had him. Both of us, one hand each."

"I tried." Raven hugged herself sorrow and guilt coursing through her veins,

"We watched him die." Glenn could not bring himself to look at Rick and neither could Raven.

"I almost left him out there. Let Raven kill him like she wanted to... Could have told a story." Raven dared to glance at Rick, his face filled with anger which Glenn seemed to notice too, "What, you think I should have?"

"They don't know what they're doing. Any of them." Rick shrugged; his eyes filled with fire but his face calming down enough for them to know he was still with them.

"We'll show them." Glenn immediately spoke, his eyes begging Rick to not go down the path he was thinking about.

"I don't know if they can see it." Rick tried to explain, "How things really are. I don't know if they can yet. They haven't caught up."

Glenn intercepted him, "We have to be here."

"We have to... for us and for them." Raven looked up at Rick for the first time in the night, her cheek bruised with a cut while her left arm was in a sling that Jessie's husband gave her, no broken bones just bruised which was a win for her,

"Yeah, we do." Rick nodded in agreement with them, "But their rules, we don't answer to them."

Glenn shook his head, feeling like Rick wasn't understanding them, "We are them, Rick. We are now. Noah, he believed in this place. I'm telling you, we gotta make this work."

Rick stared at Glenn before he briefly glanced at Raven, seeing that the woman had Glenn's back wordlessly, he sighed before he slowly stood up, two pair of eyes following his movement as he walked away with his hands brushing through his hair.

Raven sighed before she too stood to her feet, she looked down at Glenn before she asked him, "Do you want me to stay with you or will you be okay?"

Glenn glanced up at her before he nodded weakly, "I'll be okay... Maggie's waiting for me anyway..."

Raven nodded as she squeezed his bicep and moved away from the house,

"Hey wh-where are you going off to?" Glenn stuttered; his face confused as he watched her walk away from the house- where she was supposed to be inside of this late at night.

"I'm going out for a bit; don't worry I won't run away." She playfully rolled her eyes before she dashed between houses, walking to where she had seen Enid climb out before.
