Chapter 11 (Amara)

I watch Carter's eyes close, something snaps inside me. It feels like there's fire running through my veins, it starts in my chest and spreads through my arms and my legs. I cradle Carter's body in my arm, "Everything's going to be okay now, he won't get away with this, I promise." I whisper into her ear. Her body is limp in my arms and it only reminds me that she's gone forever. She won't come back like I did, Sally hugs the little kitten to her chest then gets up and leaves. Jack is following her and Dad has already left. I let her body down onto the forest floor. I stare at her face a moment before I take her knife out of it's holder. I take the knife and slice my wrist open, I hold it over the hole in her chest, the blood drips into it, "I'll make it all better, I promise." I kept recutting it each time it stopped dripping blood. Finally after who knows how long my body starts to feel drained so I let the cuts heal. I get on my knees and kiss her cheek, "I love you, Carter." I stand up, putting each leg on either side of her body. I take both our knives and stab myself in the chest. I don't feel the pain, just a little sting, I pull the knives out. I watch the holes in my chest slowly start to close up on their own, so I do it again.

"Stop, Amara, you're going to hurt yourself." I hear a quiet, weak voice say. I look down and see Carter's eyes are open and staring up at me, I look where the hole in her chest is supposed to be, but it's gone.

"You're alive...the hole is gone....OH MY GOD YOU'RE ALIVE!" I yell and then lay my head on her chest crying,"You were dead, I thought you were gone," I say in between sobs. I feel Carter pet my head until she gasps and sits up, pushing me off her in the process,

"OH MY GOD!" She stands up and grabs my arm, pulling me up with her.

"What?!" I follow Carter through the trees.

"HURRY!" She reaches back and grabs my hand.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" I hear her giggle loudly.

"WE'RE HAVING A WEDDING!" The mansion comes into view and before I know it we're inside.

"TELEPORTATION! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" I see Ben and Toby jump off the couch shirtless. Carter stops and points at Ben.

"LET IT BE KNOWN THERE IS A WEDDING TODAY!" She then drags me up the stairs, and pulls me into my room. The babies are asleep in their crib and Jack is sitting on the bed watching them. He looks over and sees Carter.

"WHAT THE HELL!" He yells, jumping up off the bed. He goes to hug Carter but she stops him.

"WE DON'T HAVE TIME! THERE IS TO BE A WEDDING TODAY, YOU HAVE TO GET READY!" Carter yells and pushes Jack out the door and the babies start to cry. I glare at Carter and walk over to the crib.

"Awe, is Auntie Moo Moo being too loud?" I say in a baby voice, picking Emma up in one arm and Phoenix in the other. I rock them slowly until they calm down, I lay them back down. I watch Carter start to go through my closet, as I make bottles for the babies.

"I FOUND IT!" Carter yells pulling my wedding dress out of the closet. I make sure the bottles aren't too hot and I give them to the babies.

"I like how you just died and this is what you are worried about." I say laughing a little, she laughs too. Carter holds the dress up to me and her eyes start to tear up.

"You're going to be such a beautiful bride." she says smiling, tears rolling down her face. I smile back and hug her, after a few seconds I feel this wave of power surge through me. I pull away from her a little, looking at her confused, I move my hand down to her stomach.

"What are you-," she starts to say but I shush her, I close my eyes and focus when I feel the power surge through me again and I hear a fluttering sound. My eyes widen and I pull my hand away. Carter is looking at me with a look of confusion and annoyance.
