Milinda's hands shook as she looked at the note. Tears welled in her eyes and she felt as if her whole world was falling apart. She only got one year of peace. One year to live her life freely without much to worry about. A year was nothing but it was all this sick world allowed her to have. Unable to hold it any longer a loud sob ripped past her lips waking Shawn from his deep slumber. Shawn shot up in the bed almost knocking his head against the wall behind him. His eyes which were still barely open were trained on Milinda who was standing by the window holding a piece of paper and a black envelope. His heart dropped at the sight of her tears and the piece of paper. Ripping the covers off of him he jumped out of bed and ran to Milinda pulling her into his embrace.

"What's wrong? What happened?" he frantically asked as he stroked her unruly hair.

As she sobbed uncontrollably Milinda handed Shawn the note. The second he had it in his hands her legs gave out from under her sending her falling to the floor. Shawn watched horrified as she crawled into the corner and sobbed into her hands. He flipped the paper over to read the short note. His eyes widened with shock and fear as he read the name of the writer over and over and over again. Casanova stalker. Casanova stalker. The Casanova stalker! He had heard that name before. Every cop in San Francisco had heard that name before. Hell, possibly every cop in the country had heard that dreaded name before.

"Shawn, what's wrong?" Milinda breathlessly asked as Shawn began running around the room grabbing whatever clothing he could find and putting them on.

"We have to go to the station now!" he yelled. He grabbed a handful of her clothes and threw them at her. "Put that on. I'll call Akhona and tell her to come watch Kylie."

With shaky hands, Milinda got dressed and while her mind was focused on the note her eyes never left Shawn. He ran around the room like a bat that just got out of hell his eyes wide and frantic. He spewed incoherent sentences that she could barely make out and for the first time since that dreaded day she was trapped in that basement with Grayson she could see fear shining in his eyes. His fear sent chills down her spine the icy feeling dancing up and down never letting her mind rest.

As soon as she was dressed and Shawn had everything he needed he grabbed Milinda's hand and dragged her out of the apartment at such a speed they almost knocked over the still-sleepy Akhona who was making her way in.

"What the hell, guys!" she called out to them, but before Milinda could apologize to her Shawn shoved her into the car and slammed the door shut.

Shawn sped down the streets like a madman. He was weaving in and out of traffic with his siren blaring just barely missing crossing pedestrians and trash cans. Milinda wrapped her hand so tightly around the bar above her door that her knuckles were turning white and she had lost count of how many curse words she had let slip out under her breath. Milinda glanced over at Shawn shocked at how emotionless he looked. Minutes ago he was almost trembling with fear but now he was stone cold. With his eyes trained on the road, his hands snow-white from gripping the steering wheel he looked dead inside.

"Shawn, who is this guy?" Milinda asked her voice still shaking.

Shawn reached out and rested his hand on her thigh gently squeezing it multiple times as he whispered, "Don't worry, I won't let him take you."

Milinda didn't speak again; they were outside the station before she knew it. The tires screeched as Shawn brought the car to a dead stop jump scaring some of the uniformed officers who were lounging about outside. Milinda sat silently as Shawn jumped out of the car, ran around the front and opened the door for her. Holding his hand as tight as she could she allowed him to drag her into the station

"You don't have to be so rough with me," she hissed in pain when his grip became a little too tight.

Shawn didn't respond and pushed the doors open pulling her into the buzzing station packed with officers.
