I stood outside of my dad's black jeep Cherokee as I waited for him to finish his call with my mom inside the car. I looked around at the log cabins and how there was no one outside which was very strange to me but I shrugged it off. I heard the birds chirping and inhaled the nice earthy scent of the.. earth.. and pine trees I guess. I was wearing a light grey sweater, black tank top, and some shorts. I also had on my crystal necklace that I wear everyday. And my black hair with red streaks tied up in a ponytail under a black hat.
"Daddd" I said making my way over to his side of the car where he was still on the phone because if there's one thing my mother knew how to do it was talk. My dad was a cool looking middle aged dude who wore grey suits everyday and had glasses that fit his bald head perfectly. Like they were made just for him. He was pretty nice as nice as a dad can be I guess he obviously had his strict moments.. but my mom wore the pants in the relationship for sure.
"I'm sorry Juna but I can't go inside with you like I originally thought I'm gonna be late for work." My dad said hanging up the phone and glancing from me to his watch. "But you're a big girl you'll be okay.. alright you got your bags have a great time make new friends at this summer camp learn some new things and I'll see you next month. I love you bye." He said driving off nearly running Over a rabbit as he did.
"Hmm Love you too" I said to no one as I picked up my bags and walked up to the main cabin entrance where another bald man with glasses was sitting typing away at his computer. I noticed his nametag. 'Mr. poluci ' He looked fun.
I cleared my throat as I walked up to him.
He didn't look up.
I cleared my throat a second time.
"Sign in on the paper that's in front of you." He didn't look up but at least he talked this time.
I took the pen and signed my name.
𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘢 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 ☻
I put the pen down and smiled to myself. I had always signed my name with a smiley face at the end of it since I was in kindergarten. No one really questioned it. and yes my last name was clover. Which some people did question.
The man took the paper still pretty focused on whatever was on the screen in front of him but he looked down at the paper and read my name. "J u h na? A may ah?" I cringed at his pronunciation of my name. "It's uh actually-" I began sticking my finger up in the air to correct him but than he looked at me up and down with shock on his face.
"What? Are you transgender? Or what? Do you just look really girly?"
Wow how rude. My mother would of hit him for sure if she was here.
"Umm no..? I am a girl. I don't understand your shock..."
"We don't allow girls here. This is a boys only boot camp. The summer camp that I'm sure you're looking for is about 45 miles or so the other direction of us."
Wow dad. Time to get a new gps.
A/n: hii I'm actually super exited for this story even though I debated a very long time about making it but I'm willing to try and give it a chance. I usually only make my stories for me since I don't get a whole lot of readers because I'm not the best writer but if you read and follow along with this story, vote and/or comment I appreciate you more than you know and thanks for also giving it a chance if you do read along. :)
