Mark's hand clutched a can of cold brew in a sort of death grip as he walked down the school's hallways, his eyes glazed over as his thoughts whirled around, trying to make sense of his plan of action.

He was lucky enough to have had Jeno partially believe him when he said that he had been having vivid nightmares and had been losing a horrendous amount of sleep over them. He had told the younger that he was trying to get it solved but the nightmares had been taking up a large amount of his time and his energy.

Jeno wasn't stupid of course, he knew that Mark wasn't telling him the full truth. But, his explanation was enough of the truth to convince Jeno that he wasn't entirely lying. Just enough revealed to buy time to figure out the painful details of his plan.

Turning the corner, Mark barely blinked when he saw a nurse pass him by with a patient in a wheelchair, some other intern throwing him a smile and a greeting as he walked by. His hand ruffled his messy hair and he took a sip of the coffee as he adjusted the intern scrubs that had just replaced his teaching suit.

"Hey Mark, make sure you get Chenle his pills for the morning," Jungwoo called out as he came out of the breakroom and Mark nodded, beginning to make his way towards the prescription room. He glanced absentmindedly at the clock on the wall and took a last sip of his cold brew before tossing it in a nearby trash can. It was close to 8am and Chenle needed his pills by 8:30.

When he walked into the room he tossed a bright smile to his co-worker who gave him a skeptical look before laughing. "You seem to be in a good mood today, Markie," Donghyuck teased and Mark laughed.

He felt lighter too. Maybe it was because he was closer to solving his problem -- because he was finally so terribly close to enacting his plan to figure out his fantasy and his reality. Sure, it was a bit nerve-wracking because he wasn't entirely sure which life he wanted to be true, but he was a bit more excited to solve his mystery.

"I just woke up on the right side of the bed, I guess," Mark responded as he grabbed two plastic cups, filling one with water before moving around the room to grab the medication needed. Chenle was responding well to the current medication, less nightmares than before but he still had his moments of confusion and panic.

"Remember to make sure you're getting enough rest Mark, you had us scared with that fainting episode," Donghyuck lectured and looked over to him, a look of concern written all over his face. Mark nodded and gave his co-worker a reassuring smile.

"I'll be sure to try my best," he responded then licked his lips nervously. It was the perfect moment to ask his first question. "I feel like I've been doing this internship for forever....What date did you join again?"

"Hm, well the same as you," Donghyuck responded after a moment, pausing to rest his hands on the counter by Renjun's medication as he stared thoughtfully at the wall, "Sometime during....I think the end of summer, wasn't it? We started together, so whatever date you remember. It's all such a blur." Donghyuck laughed and Mark nodded, watching the boy as he threw a 'see ya later' over his shoulder and walked out of the room.
