"Where am I?" I say, disoriented.
I slowly open my eyes. Bright lights and beeping.
"You sure are a lucky one." A soft voice speaks.
My vision focuses on a petite lady in teal scrubs.
"I-"
"You're okay." She interrupts. "You were found on a roof in the middle of the hurricane down by the coast but you're safe now. You were transported to St. Mary's hospital."
"My-" I look down at the wires coming from my arm.
"You were dehydrated. We're just administrating some fluids. Your foot was also broke. We've got you all casted up. Now, could you tell me your name?"
My eyes widen. "Ethan." I say softly.
"Ethan?" She questions.
I snap out of my dazed state. "I was with a man. Ethan. Ethan Howard."
She starts flipping through my chart, confused.
"Was there a man transported here from the hurricane?" I shout.
"I don't know miss. I need you to calm-"
"No you don't understand!" I shout while pulling the IV needle out of my arm. "I have to get out of here! I have to make sure he's okay."
The nurse tries to hold me down but fails as I throw myself off the bed and limp to the door.
"Code purple." The nurse speaks into her walkie.
Before I can reach the door three nurses enter.
"Miss we need you to get back in bed." One says.
"No there was a man! I was with a man!" I shout.
One nurse sneaks behind me and pierces my skin with a thin needle. I immediately get sleepy and black out.

I open my eyes.
"Hello. I'm Dr. Lankford." A short male doctor speaks.
I try to sit up but notice my arms are tied to the bed.
"Don't worry. Those are just a precaution. You seemed pretty anxious before we sedated you."
"I- I was rescued but I was with a man." A tear starts falling down my cheek. "He fell off the roof before the helicopter could get to us."
The doctor furrows his brows together and flips through my chart.
"Could you tell me your name?" He asks.
"Megan. Megan Parker."
He looks up at me. "There is one man who was transported to us. He had no ID."
"Could I- am I allowed to see if I can identify him?"
He looks at me hesitantly then looks at my restraints.
"I'm okay." I say calmly. "Please?"
He looks over at the nurse next to me and nods. She slowly undos the ties around my wrists then helps me into a wheelchair.
My heart was beating at an insane rate. I felt like I was gonna throw up. What if it wasn't him? What if he didn't make it out? That current was strong enough to break the windows. It would've easily swept him away. I was on the verge of tears but didn't want the nurses to think I was gonna lose it again.
