Chapter 1: Hole in the heart

"Kakashi....YOU KILLED ME!"

The sky was tinted in blood, the blood he had shed when he killed his teammate

"No..no no, Rin I didn't mean it. I was just trying to protect you"

There was the ear piercing sound of Kakashi's chidori straight through the heart of his friend. Tears forming in his eyes as he looked at his teammate's face, blood drooling down her mouth. His bright chidori faded as he looked at the gaping hole he had made. He could hardly breathe as he saw the body of his helpless teammate fall limply to the ground.

"You..." Someone voiced from behind. Kakashi turned around to see his former teammate Obito standing there, half of his body crippled and bloodied.

"You said you would protect her, you promised! YOU LIAR! Now look at her, dead by your own hand, do you call that protecting!"

"O-Obito wait I can explain.." But before Kakashi was finished Obito rushed in and stabbed Kakashi in rage.

"A fitting end for Scum like you." Obito spat as Kakashi stared wide eyed, coughing out blood.

Kakashi jolted awake in a cold sweat, heart pounding in his chest. His bed sheets and clothes drenched in sweat. Kakashi grimaced in disgust before he looked at his hands. Panic started to rise within him again as he saw is hands stained in blood. He rushed to the bathroom to try to wash off the stain of blood.

"It won't come off, it won't come off, it won't..." He kept muttering, tears freely flowing down his face as he scrubbed as hard as he could but the red stain that haunted him stayed there as Kakashi began to break down on his bathroom floor.

Some time had passed and Kakashi finally began to calm down. He walked out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. He had a small apartment, when you walk in you are greeted to the living room in front of you with a counter separating the kitchen from the living room. To the right there is a small hallway containing 3 rooms, the bathroom on the left, the bedroom at the end of the hallway, and another room Kakashi uses for storage on the right.

Kakashi walked out into the kitchen to get a glass of water to help calm his nerves. He noticed that the time was only 11:23.

'Wow not even an hour of sleep. And I doubt I'll get much more.' he thought in despair.

He decided it would be a good idea to walk around the village to get his mind off of his nightmare from earlier. It had been nearly a year since he had killed Rin but he still gets horrifying nightmares that seem to only get worse as his guilt is deepens. He knew that he could never forgive himself for that and he knew that if Obito were here then he would definitely never forgive kakashi. Kakashi was just glad that he still had Minato sensei and his friends to help him through his trauma.

He changes into a fresh set of cloths along with some of his ANBU training gear. He exited his apartment only to feel a sudden chill in the air which he found odd, like something sinister was approaching, but he shrugged it off and proceeded to take out his book and start reading it.

Kakashi was walking through the streets of Konoha reading his perverted book with a blush. All of Kakashi's friends knew that he was a major closet pervert but he started to get bolder as he would often read it in public.His blush intensified while he was reading cause he got to a spicy chapter in the book. He had read this book multiple times but he would still get hot and bothered during the romantic scenes

"Oh" he muttered to himself as he held his hand to his mouth in shock of what he was reading.

Even at night, the streets of Konoha were lively with people all around the marketplace, eating BBQ and getting drunk with friends while wives would scold their husbands for drinking too much. It sure was noisy out here but Kakashi didn't mind the chatter cause this is what made him love Konoha so much, the city always feels so alive no matter the time of day.
