I had no idea what was going on

All I remember was that one moment I was sitting outside on the grass with a small boy that looked like he was eight and a smaller girl who looked around five. I don't know who they are but I feel like I know them, I think. I was telling them a story so that they can have something to dream about when they had to go to bed but then when I was alone, I think I had an argument with someone, someone I wasn't friendly with but we were somehow close. Then all of a sudden everything went black, I couldn't breathe, I couldn't hear nor could I see and there was this terrible, agonising pain in my lower waist area as if someone stabbed me. But after a few minutes, the pain went away, I felt peaceful like all my troubles just flew away like the leaves of autumn flowing in the breeze.

The cold darkness thankfully turned into a warm and pleasant feeling. I wasn't anywhere in particular but then again I felt like I was connected to everything.

I could taste the wind, the rain and the thunder

I could hear the grass and the trees

I could feel everything

Then suddenly as if in a flash that feeling was gone, ripped away from me.

It felt horrid

It felt wrong

It was like someone had ripped my heart out of my chest and forced me to watch as the squeezed it tightly until it was nothing.

I felt wrong

I felt unclean

I felt unnatural

Then it happened...

I felt a rush of electricity and fire burn through me before I woke up again almost instantly but I seemed to be trapped inside a tank filled with a strange yet warm blue liquid. There were three men in front of me, two adults and a younger looking man. They looked at me in awe, as if I was an animal at the zoo until a sudden applause burst out from the far left side of the room. I turned to face where the applause was coming from but got distracted by two glowing red orbs in my reflection. 'Are those my eyes?' I thought to myself as I tried to figure out where I am or how I even got here. I looked around and all I could see were people staring at me creepily, a lot of machinery and a lot of computers. 'Maybe, they can tell me what's going on' I thought but couldn't help but wonder why, why would I be in a tank, what happened to me? "She won't remember anything right, of how she died, who she was?" asked one of the men in the white coats, he had dark brown hair with emerald green eyes.

I instantly looked straight at him as I listened to their conversation, I couldn't help but think that they were talking about me.

The man next to him, an older man, burst out laughing as he patted the anxious-looking man's back "don't worry, by the time we get her under control she won't show any signs of human emotion, her past memories will be gone, never to resurface. Your secret is safe with me" said the older scientist reassuringly. 'Secret... what secret? Who are these people?' I thought to myself as I frantically looked for a way out.

As the audience got closer, I was beginning to feel scared and I couldn't do anything about it. "This is remarkable!" said one of them as he studied me carefully as if I was some valued artefact but at the same time trying not to get too close. Everyone nodded and muttered to each other in agreement. I could see that they were sort of uneasy about me staring back at them but that problem swept away when one the assistants randomly broke the silence. "I think this calls for a celebration! What do you think boss?" said the boy addressing to the older guy who I'm positive is a scientist or some sort of Doctor. The older man laughed while patting the boy on the back "great idea kid, how 'bout we open up that champagne bottle we've been saving in the cafeteria!" answered the older scientist. When everyone heard the older scientist's answer everyone rushed out the door but the scientist didn't move an inch. The man just stared at me with pride, he then smiled and even though it was a friendly smile something didn't feel right about it, "don't go anywhere, project reanimation we're not done yet" he said before leaving me alone and turning the lights off. 'Not finished!? What more could he possibly want from me!' I thought angrily and fearfully as my eyelids became heavy, I looked around the room and saw a map on the wall.
