PURE WHITE SNOW fell upon the town of Kingston Falls, blankets of it covered the once green grass, and trees were left with only the branches. The sound of snow crunching underneath a pair of boots was heard.

A woman walked down the streets of her hometown, a suitcase trailing behind her as she grinned widely, waving at bystanders who she recognised as once family friends and neighbours.

Christmastime had arrived, and Abby Richardson had finally arrived back to her hometown from college in New York. She had left her home when she turned sixteen and graduated high school.

Now nineteen years old, with one year of college left, she was back home once again to visit those she loved for the holidays. Every Christmas she would visit her family and friends, but was only allowed to stay for three days before returning back to New York.

She had managed to convince her professors to let her stay until the new year, at which she had to bribe them with a photography project, which was her specific study.

But what they didn't know was that she wanted to stay longer for her friends, not her project. And she only had one family member left that associated with her, the rest were out of the picture.

When Abby was a young girl, four years old to be exact, her mother had passed away due to heart complications. It was one of the worst moments of her life, and she had never forgotten it. She was left in the care of her dad, who had since turned cold.

It was only a few mere months later that he got remarried to an awful lady, with whom they now shared a fifteen year old daughter. Since that day, Abby had been casted aside, treated like a piece of trash.

Her dad, Andrew, was emotionally, and sometimes physically abusive towards her. Her step mother, Amy, was a very rich lady, and someone who happened to be family friends with Kingston Falls worst, Ruby Deagle.

And her step sister, Tracy, was a spoilt child who was very privileged. She was the favourite, obviously. Abby had to grow up with being pushed around, left out of things and never being appreciated by her own.

It had gotten to the point where she had already moved out very young, but nobody knew it yet, and had permanently moved into the Peltzer's residence.

The Peltzer's were very good friends with her mother, so it was only right that their children become best friends. When her mother, Claire, passed away, the Peltzer's took her in.

Randell and Lynn Peltzer were more like her family than her actual family after her mothers passing, but even when her mum was alive, her dad was never there. They had always been there when she needed them.

When her mother did pass, the family took no hesitation to take her in. They knew what Andrew was like, and they couldn't bare to see her so hurt all the time. And their son, Billy, adored her.
