Chapter 19

After Pierre talked with Officer Jenny, she decided to investigate the place Pierre had mention with a cop team. It was around eleven cops as long as Pierre who guided them to the house. Ash asked her to go as well as he couldn't stand one more day without Serena. The house was in the middle of the woods. There was no other house around that one. So no one would hear the screams or cries for help. Ash kept his head down low wishing and praying that we would find Serena. It has been too long since he had seen her. He hoped she was alive and safe. He knew Calem was capable of everything to hurt her.

"Ok let's group. As Pierre has said there's a basement in this house. It's probably where Calem keeps Pierre's wife. Now about Serena, there is no certainty where she could be. Since Calem seems to have a big connection with her, he might have her in a room... I say we surround the house and some of us get in..." All the cops nodded "Ash and Pierre, you're staying here"

"No.. Officer Jenny, Serena is in there. I need to go" Ash said

"I'm sorry. It's dangerous and Calem obviously hates you. We have no idea what he would do if he sees you in there" Ash kept asking and begging to go too as he wanted to safe Serena to make sure she was ok... Of course, he knew she wouldn't be ok. Pierre agreed right away on staying outside because if Calem saw him, his wife would die. After minutes of fighting with Officer Jenny to go in, he finally gave up and stood with Pierre.

Ash prayed Serena would be fine. He wanted Calem to pay for everything he did to his love. Ash missed Serena. He was getting done with people always making them apart from each other. After this incident, he would make Serena his wife no matter what. He realized his life with her was never assured. So as fast as he could be hers and she could be his, he would be happy.

~~~~Inside the house~~~~

Serena was laying down in a bed, her whole body ached. She lost the idea of time. It seemed like she was stuck in there for months. She had her body full of bruises. Her mind was dying. She could no longer think or feel the pain. It became an everyday thing for Calem to show up and do whatever he wanted with her. She didn't eat since she had been there. She was thinner than she had ever been... It was scary if someone saw her like that.

She missed Ash. The way he held her, his tender kisses, his sweetness, and his touch. She longed to see him again and to be in his arms again. She hoped he was safe from any harm. She felt the weakest person ever. She didn't even have the strength to try and escape as her whole body was destroyed. Suddenly, as she was lost in thoughts, Calem opened the door.

"Good morning princess," He said. Serena didn't even bother to reply. She was shocked as she saw Calem holding a cup of coffee. "I bring u something"

Serena felt scared more than she already would be. She had no idea what that coffee could have. She wanted to scream. But she had realized she was too far away from people because she had screamed so much yet no one had heard her.

"Try and be more cheerful. I bring you something to eat... There has been a change of plans my dear. I guess someone has talked too much. He thought I wouldn't find out. I wish he would just keep quiet not thing will be hard. "

Serena looks at Calem. Her eyes letting tears out as she feared for her life and for Pierre's wife who was closed in the basement. Calem grabbed her. She was sitting upright in front of him. Serena cried. She wanted to scream.

"Now, keep quiet and drink this" Calem said. Serena wasn't going to drink whatever it was in the cup until Calem grabbed her hard and cut her with a knife. She screamed.

The scream didn't go unnoticed by officer Jenny, the other cops, and Ash and Pierre. They were now sure they needed to get into the house as fast as possible.

"Do as I tell you to! Drink this" And so Serena did. Fearing for her life. She felt her whole body weaker as she finished drinking that thing. She almost passed out. Calem carried her to the basement, Serena with her eyes closing even more by every passing second. When she felt herself being dropped she opened her eyes. Right in front of her, she saw Pierre's wife. Like Serena, she was thinner than she used to be. But she didn't have bruises all over her body.

Serena and Mary, Pierre's wife, looked at each other, fearing for what could happen to them.

"Now the two of you are going to stay quiet. We have some company"

Officer Jenny and 7 other cops entered the house. It was quiet until a shot was heard followed by screams. They came from the basement so they rushed there. They broke the door and found Serena covered in bruises and blood almost falling to the floor, crying and screaming and Mary, Pierre's wife, lying unconscious on the floor. Calem stood there with a gun in his hand. He turned around seeing the cops and smiled and just said.

"You can arrest me now. I have done my job. If I can't end up with Serena, no one else will"

The cops rushed to him and arrested him. Officer Jenny called for two ambulances. She ran to Serena who was crying and doing her best to stay awake. Officer Jenny had never seen this such bruises and cuts on someone. She wondered how could she tell Ash and Pierre the state the two were.

The ambulance came. Ash and Pierre got worried. Ash rushed to the door of the house. He was afraid this was it. He had lost Serena forever. He saw the nurses running to the house with two emergency stretchers. He feared the worst. He tried to go inside but was stopped by two cops. Pierre in the back cried already fearing like Ash the worse.

After some minutes, the two emergency stretchers came again. Pierre ran to his wife to see her unconscious, she didn't breathe and her heart had stopped. The nurses told him she was shot. She is dead. Pierre fell into his knees and cried rivers of tears as he lost the love of his love.

Ash saw Serena laying on the other one. She had bruises and blood all over her body but she was awake and breathing. He ran to her.

"Serena! Oh god, I was so afraid I had lost you forever" Ash cried her. Serena with the strength she still had put a hand in his cheek and said

"You will never lose me. I love you" Serena said. Ash's hands grabbed Serena's hand.

The doctors told him Serena needed to go to the hospital immediately. Ash after thanking Officer Jenny for finding Serena left with the nurses and Serena wishing the love of his life would be fine.
