Standing outside and looking at the fireflies slowly blink in the night is a great way to pass a sleepless night.
Ever since you came to live with Harr and Loki in their cabin, this was often how you spent your nights. You didn't know why, but you were just restless at night here. Lost in thought and the mesmerizing flash of the lightning bugs, you never heard the front door open and close.
"Couldn't sleep again?" You jumped at the voice that sounded behind you and whirled around. It was Loki. You shrugged.
"Yes, but I'm used to it by now". Loki pouted.
"You shouldn't be! You need your sleep!" You gave a soft laugh.
"I'll be fine, Loki." You hadn't paid attention to the distance between you and Loki until he was almost touching you.
"Maybe, but I care about your wellbeing. I care about you." His usually goofy expression was more serious than you had ever seen it before. This wasn't his usual flirting.
"Loki, I...... I care about you too." A soft smile spread across his face.
"Can I kiss you?" You flushed and nodded once. Loki then wrapped his arms around you and pulled your mouth to his. Your lips met in a kiss that was almost magical, surrounded by the light of a thousand fireflies and a million stars.
