i hope you guys enjoy this chapter ! i think i'll be updating every week from now on, i cant wait to get deeper into the story when all the mysteries are revealed 💧

Memorized by his blue eyes. I was staring, mouth agape. I didn't know just how intensely we were looking at each other. His mouth was in a thin line but soon crept into a smirk, the corners of his mouth upturning the slightest amount. "nice to see you again, Kennedy" he spoke softly. Realizing I was still in his arms, I quickly pulled away. "same to you." I mumbled stumbling backwards, and with that I turned and disappeared in the crowd leaving him in the dust.

I didn't know where exactly I was going but I just kept walking straight until I felt a tug on my shoulder. Kaylee had caught up to me. "what the fuck was that back there? How do you two know each other?" one after another she fired questions at me. Lost in the memories that danced around my head I just simply nodded no and she understood to stop.

We walked back to the table in silence. I was still thinking about him. Remembering everything that I had happened between us. I obviously knew I couldn't avoid him forever but I could damn well try. The bell was about to ring, so I grabbed my bag, said goodbye under my breathe and made my way to my locker.

On my way I thought about my encounter with Christopher, and realized maybe I missed him. The memories connected to Christopher weren't all bad, a lot of them were actually good. The more I thought about the previous episode I had the more I realized I should apologize. I quickly pushed that thought to the back of my mind, I just wanted to keep avoiding him for the rest of my life.

School slipped by. Hour after hour of sitting in those class rooms will now have to wait until tomorrow when all 800 of us repeat the process. I was packing my bag, crouched at my locker when I felt a soft tap on my shoulder. "I told you a billion times, I know I take forever at my locker but I will meet you at the car by 2:30 I promise" I said without turning around, figuring it was Mae. "well princess, I'm pretty sure your not coming home with me but feel free to." you could practically hear the smirk on his lips. I jumped up, grabbed my bag and closed my locker. I turned to face him "look, Christopher, I'm sorry about how I freaked out when I uh I saw you in the cafeteria, you just, you know how I feel and um it was just a shock, no offense." I smiled lightly hoping my apology was enough. "none taken princess, now why don't we catch up on all that lost time, Thursday night, ill pick you up at 7, it's a date." he was no longer smirking he gave me his number and with that he disappeared into a sea of students.

Butterflies, stupid fucking butterflies erupted in my stomach. I had sped walked to Mae's car and was now spilling all the details. " OH MY GOD, this is your second chance Kenns! This is God telling you two to finally get together!" I groaned. "Mae we're just catching up, starting a friendship. Please don't push this whole relationship thing onto me, if its meant to happen it'll happen but for right now we are friends." she was quiet for a moment when she finally spoke up "well it is meant to be so don't forget to invite me to the wedding." Even though this whole discussion made me uncomfortable I laughed at her, she had good intentions.

Mae came over for a while after school. "we're going shopping tomorrow" she said while shoving popcorn in her mouth. "we're what" I questioned. "going shopping, you have a date so we're buying you new clothes no ifs ands or buts." Mae didn't even look up from the TV but she knew I would go with her plan, I always do.

She left around dinner time, just in time for me to get in a shower before setting the table and joining my family. A large array of vegetables and meat laid out on the table. A typical James dinner. Since my mom didn't have a real job she spent most of her time catering to my father and my siblings or cooking.

Little to no conversation occurred while we ate. Until my father spoke my name. "Kennedy, Christopher's father told me you and his son ran into each other this afternoon at school? How lovely, don't you remember you two growing up together?" "dad it was great we're actually going out to catch up on Thursday." I said keeping my eyes on my food. "well that's great, we know you haven't had many social interactions since the incident and-" I cut I him off not wanting to go further into the conversation "dinner was great mom thanks, I'm going to my room"

I quickly shoved my chair out from beneath me and raced up the stairs. As soon as I got into my room I slammed my door behind me. Flashbacks of that night flooded my head. With my back against the door I slowly slid down it sobbing into my hands. I've tried so hard to move on from it but every time I'm close to forgetting it just resurfaces. I guess there is so forgetting.
