noahs pov
we run downstairs to make whipped coffee and we both drank some and headed back to my room we had nothing to do so we just sat there
"so school is starting soon" i say
"oh wow that's crazy i swear summer just started" clara says
"we should be study buddies so we can stay friends" i suggest
"oh yeah of course we could also hang out at the diner and stay after hours to do work since i close"clara says
"that would be really fun" i say
we just sit in silence for a bit more since we couldn't think of anything to do claras face lit up and she jumped off the bed and ran into chloes room so i followed her
"hey chloe can i borrow a face mask" she says
"yeah of course" chloe says and goes to get one from her bathroom clara thanks chloe and drags me into my bathroom
"stand right here" she says
"wait what are you doing" i ask smiling
"we're putting face masks on each other" she says i laugh and she applies it
"ok now you put the face mask on my face" she says
"i'm not stupid" i say
"you sure about that?" she asks
"oh shut up" i say laughing
we laugh we sit and talk waiting for the mask to dry and then wash them off we go back to having nothing to do so clara suggested we watch tik tok so we did that for a bit and then we got kinda bored so i suggested disney plus.
"we should watch hsmtmts" clara suggests
so we binge watched the show and when we were done it was around 4am
"so what do you wanna do now" i say i got no answer so i look over at clara and she's out
"goodnight clara" i say laughing
i then go on my phone and check social media until i get sorta tired and fall asleep

claras pov
"wake up wake up" my eyes flutter open to meghan shaking me awake
"go away" i whisper
i then feel warm air on my neck and see that noahs face is right next to my head wait why are we in the same bed. i scoot over so we aren't so close since it's kinda weird. i can't fall back asleep so i just sit up and go on my phone but there was nothing interesting so i just sat there i got bored so i went on my phone again until i heard movement
"hey noah" i say
"oh hey how long have you been up" he says sitting up and looking for his phone
"um maybe 30 minutes" i say
he nods
"i have to get to the diner soon ive been taking so many breaks i have to work extra" i say
"i can drive you" noah says
"thanks" i say
"no problem"
"you know since you're over there all the time you should just apply for a job alaina thinks you're cool so she wouldn't care if you worked with us" i say
"that sounds cool how do i interview" noah asks
"i'll ask my boss" i say
"what's her name you guys never have called her name before" noah says laughing
"betty. she doesn't want us to call her by her name" i say smiling
we head downstairs to eat breakfast and head off to the car
"come on meghan we have to go" i say as noah walks out the door
"um hey it's fine she can stay here i'll take her off your hands" chloe says walking in the room
"thanks chloe" i say running after noah
once we get to the diner i run in
"hey alaina" i say
"hey clara are we still hanging out next weekend" she asks
"yup definitely i can't wait" i say running in the back
"hi betty" i say
"what do you want jackson" she says looking up at me
"can noah interview" i ask
"who's noah" she asks
"brown haired boy who comes in everyday" i say
"yeah fine send him back here"
"hey noah she said to go back there"

noahs pov
i walk back. i really hope i get this job claras one of my best friends and alaina seems like a cool person to know.
"hi" i say
"you're noah?" she asks
"yes"
"you've been like most of our profits the past months"
"yes"
"where do you even get all the money to buy food from here everyday" she asks
"why are you even asking me that" i say
"i mean do you really need the job" she asks
"yes i spent all my money" i lie
"just to see clarissa" she asks
my face goes red
"no well yeah she's my friend why wouldn't i want to see her"
"yeah whatever you got the job i need more employees anyways go find an outfit your size" she says
i walk out to clara and alaina i hear them talking
"come on he's cute just think about it" alaina says
"i don't know i barely know him" clara says
"he's perfect just go for it the worst thing that could happen is you get rejected" alaina says
we're they talking about me? no they probably weren't
"hey guys i got the job"
their faces light up
"bruh we're gonna have so much fun" clara says
"we can be our own little friend group" alaina says
"omg yes" clara shouts
"shut it" betty yells and i laugh
clara slaps me
a few hours go by
"hey noah we need your opinion" alaina says
"no we don't" i say
"ok there was this boy who came in and clara thought he was cute and he had a hoodie with the name of our school so he definitely goes there" alaina says
"oh my god" clara says face palming and i laugh so they weren't talking about me which was good she's just my friend
"i think you should totally go for it" i tell clara
"see noah gives good advice" alaina says and we both laugh
"ugh fine" clara says
we go back to working alaina has to leave early but clara and i stay to close we sit in a booth exhausted after we lock the doors
"i need to stop by your house to pick up meghan" clara says
"oh yeah i forgot" noah says
we drive back to my house and clara gets meghan and goes home. this job will never get boring.
