I meet Chase on the way out, he's smiling wide and I don't know why. I haven't seen him since lunch.
"Hey, what are you so happy about?" I question him with curiosity.
"Taylor, I have survived the first day, isn't that happy enough?" I can tell he's joking with me.
"No, we all did but why are so cheerful?" It's going to bother me. By now, we're at the door and walking towards the student parking lot.
"Since telling you my secret there's a weight lifted, I dont feel so weird, so different, so out of place. Im happy, thanks Tay." I smile just as big as he is.
"Hey, you're welcome," I start, "If you need anything im here, remember that." When I finish my sentence, I swear my grin got wider.
"Thanks, you're amazing you know that?" He keeps thanking me.
"I've been told." I say and realize we're already in the car and on our way towards my house and getting close to it. Chase pulls up in the start of my driveway and thanks me once again. I tell him you're welcome for the hundreth time and slam the truck door, a bad habit.
When I knock on my own white front door because I always forget my key my mother whips it open. She looks down at my shortness and keeps inching closer, I can sense the shear top now touching my arm as it tickles my skin. Shes hugging me. It feels nice since considering all the fights we've been having. I wrap my arms around her middle and we stay there like that.
"Im gonna go get groceries, do you want anything?"
"No, I'm good, thank you," I say to her not feeling like getting anything.
"Alright thats fine, Im getting mexican though so don't eat too much around the house, Taylor also clean your room again it looks like a storm blew threw it."
"Okay," I turn and run up the stairs, I hear her shut the door and head over to my grey and black laptop. I play my favorite song, Its SoMo, but no one else seems to know who he is.
Dancing and picking up trash and paper towels, I chuck them in the can. I walk over to my dresser with the five drawers to pick up the new glasses of water that made their way on top of there. After doing that I just have to make my bed and its clean enough, for now. The dirty clothes can wait.
I lay there just thinking, just me and my thoughts, something that been happening a lot lately. Theres one topic that just keeps coming back. That one guy I flirted or tried to flirt with today. He was just perfect, he was amazing. Ugh, if I keep going on about him ill get hooked, I need some tv.
I'm watching for about fifteen minutes and my door swings open.
"Taylor, whats up?," My mom gazes at me with wonder.
"Im done cleaning, and did you get food?"
"Yeah I did come down stairs and eat."
"Okaaaay," I tell her and make my way out.
We eat at our brown, wooden table. Im having chicken and cheese quesadillas, and mom has a meaty burrito. We eat in silence once again until mom decides to talk.
"How was school?" she questions me in between bites.
"It was pretty good," is all I say to her but thoughts are swarming my head right now. The cool guy I met before English, Chase's secret, Tori, everything. Its too much to get my thoughts together enough for a sentence.
"Mom, I'm gonna go upstairs and get ready for bed, I have to get ready for tomorrow already." I excuse myself.
"Alright, just a heads up I have a doctors appointment Friday."
