harry's pov

that night, i'm sitting in the gryffindor dorm with ron, all the other boys are in the common room. i can't stop thinking about earlier, when (y/n) almost fell off of buckbeak.. when i grabbed her, she looked right into my eyes and.. i don't know. she's never acted as if she felt that way until today..

"hey ron. i gotta tell you something." i say.

"what is it?" Ron asks.

"Earlier today, when I was riding buckbeak with (y/n), there was this moment when she almost fell off, and I grabbed her and we looked each other in the eye.. i just felt like she.. felt something too," ron looks at the ground, a strange, almost sad look in his eyes. not exactly the reaction i was expecting. "or maybe not, i could've imagined it." i add.

"maybe you should just ask her then, if you wanna know so bad." he says, before getting up and walking to the common room. what's up with him? was it something i said? that was strange..

your pov

the next morning, i'm eating breakfast in the great hall with harry, ron and hermione. i can hear draco going on about his 'broken arm' to the slytherin table. please. he hardly got a scratch.

"Does it hurt terribly, Draco?" pansy asks, grabbing dracos hand.

"it comes and it goes. Still, I consider myself lucky. Madam Pomfrey said another minute and I could've lost my arm. I can't do homework for weeks." draco says. i roll my eyes.

"Listen to the idiot." i say to my friends.

"He's really laying it on thick, isn't he?" ron adds.

"At least Hagrid didn't get fired." harry says.

"I hear Draco's father's furious. We haven't heard the end of this." hermione tells us. suddenly, seamus runs over to us, holding a copy of the daily prophet and slamming it down on the table.

"He's been sighted! He's been sighted!" he shouts.

"Who?" i ask him.

"Sirius Black!" he replies. no way.. hermione picks up the article.

"Dufftown? That's not far from here. You don't think he'd come to Hogwarts, do you?" hermione asks.

"With dementors at every entrance?" neville says.

"Dementors? He slipped past them once. Who's to say he won't do it again?" seamus replies.

"That's right. Black could be anywhere. It's like trying to catch smoke. Like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands." i say, feeling a bit scared.

~time skip~

"Intriguing, isn't it?" professor lupin says as he walks around the classroom. he's talking about a cabinet, there's something inside it, banging at the door. "Would anyone like to venture a guess... as to what is inside?" he asks.

"That's a boggart, that is." dean says.

"Very good, Mr. Thomas. Now, can anybody tell me what a boggart looks like?" lupin asks. pfft. i don't even know what that is.

"No one knows." hermione says suddenly. hold on, she was not there before..

"When did she get here?" ron asks me. i shrug.

"Boggarts are shape-shifters. They take the shape of whatever a person fears the most. That's what makes them so..." hermione trails off.

"So terrifying, yes, yes, yes... Luckily, a very simple charm exists to repel a boggart. Let's practice it now. Without wands, please. After me. Riddikulus!" lupin says.
