I woke up early with the sun shining in my face. It was still dawn, which meant I had at least an hour before my first class. I slipped into my clothes, a black pleated skirt, and a black turtleneck with the Gryffindor crest on the front. I opted to leave my scarf since it looked like it was going to be a nice day. I opened my door and headed out of the main room. Downstairs a few of the professors were heading to their rooms, a few of them smiling in my direction. I stepped outside and took in a breath of fresh air. The fog was lifting from the ground, making everything look grim.

"I thought I might find you out here" I smiled.

"Sorry about yesterday, After what happened between me and Draco, plus it was late" Luna stood next to me with a half eaten muffin.

"How did it go?" I nodded.

"It went, I finally figured out the potion" I was trying to spare as little detail as possible.

"So?" I turned red and played with the hem of my shirt.

"So what?" Luna giggled.

"What did you smell?" I didn't know how to approach my answer, so I decided to go with honesty, besides, Luna was good at keeping secrets.

"Apple, specifically the sour green ones, cologne, shoe polish..."

"Draco.." I paused at Lunas abrupt guess.

"Yeah" She smiled and I knew that she had somehow already known.

"Yesterday when he said he smelt cherries and lavender, I knew it was you, I smell lavender on you all the time, and cherry gloss is what you wear almost everyday" I blushed at her genius. She perked up and her eyes danced around.

"So how does that make you feel?" I hugged myself and sighed. A small chill crept in the wind.

"I don't know, at first I despised the idea, now I'm starting to think I despise it a little less, I cant explain it but, I think maybe the potion was right, what do I do?" Luna picked at the wrapping on her muffin.

"What do you want to do?" I looked down at my feet.

"Part of me wants to explore it, these feelings, but I don't think Draco feels the same about it, he seemed maybe a little disappointed when he found out it was me he had smelt in the potion" Luna smiled cheekily as if she knew something I didn't.

"I'm sure he might want to talk about it" I squinted in curiosity.

"Why do you think that, Luna what are you-" She twirled and with a low giggle she whispered.

"Someone's been watching us" I snapped around to find Draco standing behind us, his hands in his pockets. He looked away as he spoke.

"I think we need to talk" I saw Luna gallop away from the corner of my eye. He stepped closer until he was just a few feet away. I bit my cheek.

"How long have you been standing there?" He smiled wryly.

"I heard everything you said, if that's what your getting at, ill save you the time" I felt my face heat up. So he knew how I felt.

"Draco listen-" He held up a hand.

"No, there's something I need to say-something I need to confess" I had never seen Draco put himself in such a vulnerable position, it was strange but also somewhat admirable. He seemed to be avoiding any eye contact.

"I know you think I'm not attracted to you, but your wrong, I've known how I felt for awhile, but I guess it took some silly love potion to prove it" I wasn't sure what to say.

"Draco, what are you getting at?" He ruffled his hair awkwardly, finally he looked at me.

"Look I know I'm a Slytherin, and a Malfoy, but despite both of those things-" He looked like he was having a hard time finding the right words. Instinct kicked in and I reached out and grabbed his wrist.

"Are you ok?" He looked down at the sudden contact of our hands and before I could comprehend what had happened the words poured out of him.

"I think I'm in love with you" time seemed to stand still. Draco shook his head. His feet shifting.

"No, I know I am" He waited for me to speak, but what could I say?

"Draco where is this coming from? did Crabbe and Goyle put you up to this?" I looked around half expecting them to be laughing it up. Draco grabbed my arm and pulled my attention back on him. He looked serious.

"I'm not standing out here pouring my heart out just for a laugh" I kept my gaze on his, waiting for him to crack, he never did.

"Draco, do you know what your saying?" He huffed in a sarcastic laugh, his head tilting to the left.

"Yes I think I know what love is" I squinted.

"Do you?" He watched me for a moment, his grip on my arm loosened.

"Would you agree that love is spending every waking moment, admiring the person you yearn for?" I nodded.

"Yes" He went on.

"Would you agree that love is every time you look at her, you feel your heart jump out of your chest, and dance across the room, as if just the sight of her could make you stop breathing" I felt goosebumps cover my body. My voice was low.

"Y-Yes" His eyes searched mine.

"And would you agree that love is knowing that if you had to choose between your own family, whom you've dedicated your life to pleasing, and her, the choice would always inevitably, inescapably, and undeniably be her" My heart seemed to cease working as I nodded, unable to form words. Draco licked his lips.

"Then you agree, I am in love with you" He cupped my face with his hands.

"You own my heart, whatever you wish I will make it so, whatever you need I will be it, please say something" I felt a tear forming, I'm not entirely sure why.

"Draco, we never speak, we barely acknowledge each others presence, and now? now your telling me your in love with me? you've given me no time to prepare for this, no first date, no first kiss, no attempt at building a friendship" He looked worried, I knew he must be. He leaned down and his lips were like a butterfly as they graced mine. It was much softer then id ever imagined it would be like. I realized then that at some point id imagined what kissing Draco would be like, and I acknowledged the approval I felt. He leaned away, with pleading eyes.

"There, our first kiss, and I promise you, I'm putting everything else aside, I don't care what people say, I don't care if they stare, let them, but I cant keep acting like being in love is silly, the little boy you knew, he grew up" I stared at Draco, he had grown up, and he was exceptionally handsome. Something in me shifted, I knew how I felt about him, and I knew what I wanted. He grabbed my shoulders.

"Please give me a chance to prove that what I'm saying is the truth" He leaned down to my eye level and practically begged with his eyes for an answer. I opened my mouth.

"I-"
