**FILLER CHAPTER. DON'T COME AT ME.**

I woke up a little later than usual. I didn't have nowhere to be this morning. The sky was clear and the heat gave a soft warmth that spread on my skin. I slipped on some running shorts, a t-shirt and tennis shoes. It seemed like a pleasant enough day to jog. I also needed to move my muscles. Do something or I would go insane inside, doing nothing until the party. As I exited my room I put on my headphones and tied my hair. As I walked closer to the front door, I saw Riley in the kitchen baking.

"Morning."

Riley turned away from the oven, "Hey Cami. Where are you off to?" She looked at me up and down but more specifically at the backpack I had on.

"Jogging."

"Did you ask Kase or Nate to come with you? Kase is in the pool and Nate is downstairs in the gym?" She said with a hint of unease.

I sighed and remained calm, "Riley, I'm just going jogging and I want to think about some things. Don't worry I'll be fine. I'm not going to do anything stupid."

"I don't say it because of that. I just-"

"Riley, please trust me. We can't keep doing this. I'm just going to jog and if you want you can search me you can. I don't have anything on me."

Riley sighed and leaned on the kitchen counter, "No that's not necessary I trust you. Sorry for being overprotective. I just worry." I grabbed an apple from the counter and took a bite as I began to walk out the kitchen.

"Don't worry so much, Riles or you'll get wrinkles." I walked out the front door and put on my music. What do I want to listen to today? I skimmed through my playlist and chose one. I looked up and stared at the sky, letting the last of the summer breeze run through me. I stretched and began jogging out of the gates and down the road, passing the other large mansions in the neighborhood. I had never paid any attention to the other homes.

I turned my jog into a run. With every step I felt a little lighter, as if gravity had reduced it's pull on my body. My mind gave me the idea that I was running from something, but I didn't even know from what. There was so much I wanted to confront in my life and I was finally doing it but I don't know why I felt like running now.

I had wanted to think some things over but I can't. Not today. If I got lost in my mind I wouldn't come back to reality today. My mind was empty and full at the same time. There was so much in my mind but nothing at all. I didn't even know what had me so uneasy. I have to be sane and concentrated today. I focused on the lyrics of the music, let myself be entranced by the beat.

After a few minutes of running I found a clearing with a small lake. I was on the far east side of the neighborhood, and I had never seen this lake. There wasn't anyone around and the last house was 3 blocks from here. I decided to sit on the grass and take a rest. The water was so inviting with the afternoon sun shining down on it. Everything seemed to go still for just a moment.

My phone began to ring. I groaned, not a single moment of peace. Kase was facetiming me. I answered her, "Bitch, where are you?" She attempted to make an angry face.

"Excuse me hoe? I know you aren't talking to me like that." She began to laugh.

"No, for real where are you?"

"Jogging in the neighborhood."

"Ew. I hate jogging. You need to come back. We need to go to the mall. We have nothing to wear to the party."

"Kase we have like a million things to wear."

"No, we need something better than what we have in our closet."
