A Reunion

Chapter 10

Jane's POV

"Hi Jane. Glad you remember me."

I didn't respond. I couldn't comprehend on what was happening. Liu... Jeff's brother Liu... Standing before me. He wore black pants and a dark gray shirt. A midnight blue overcoat that seemed to cover his shirt and a striped scarf wrapped tightly around his neck. He was tall, probably taller than I was. It was hard to tell from this distance. His dark brown hair was long but not to long. He still had his emerald green eyes and his facial structure looked more mature since the last time I saw him. The only thing that I couldn't stop looking at was the marks that crossed along his pail face. Stitches seemed to cover along his nose and neck. One on his cheek and several on his hands. I assume more were covered all over his body.

"Liu... How..." My words drifted. He made a little hmm sound and shifted his stance. His hands were tucked in his jeans. He gave a little smile and said "Its been what, 5 years?" I blinked "Yea, it sure has been." I responded.

This doesn't make any sense. I saw him dead! His corpse was at the dinner table that day! That horrid day... I spat out "How are you alive? I saw you! You were dead." Silence took over. He began to say "Or so you thought." He continued. "Yes, I was at that table but not dead, just unconscious! But I was very near death! I lost tons of blood. Any second longer and I would have died. At least, that's what the doctors told me. They said that I was lucky that I even survived."

Mmmm... So he wasn't dead.

"They also told me that some one else survived too." He said while giving me a smirk. I just looked away. I wish I didn't, I thought to myself. "But by the time I recovered, this certain someone was long gone. She escaped!" He continued to say.

"Why would you even care! I barely knew you!" I said. "Because," he started to walk his way towards me. "I want you to tell me. What happened while I was unconscious that day. Last I remember, you looked way different from when I last saw you." He was getting closer with every step. I put up my guard and raised my knife. He watched as I was in a ready position. "Jane, it's ok. I'm not going to hurt you!" He raised his hands in the air like he was surrendering.

"Why should I trust you! You could be fucked up in the head like him" my tone was aggressive. He began to chuckle, "I'm not going to lie, I am fucked up in the head but not like him. I'm no different from you. I know your pain and agony. Your sorrow and despair. Your hatred and the need for revenge. I know it all. My parents were killed too Jane. Everything was taken from me." He was now in front of me and his hands lowered. "It's ok, just put down the knife"

I hesitated. I thought about what he just said. Everything that he said. I began to lower my knife slowly. He took notice of this and said "Now tell me, what happened while I was knocked out."

I explained everything. Everything that happened that night. How I became... this. We were now on the swings as I continued. "And that's why I set my goals to kill him..." I said. Thats right, I want to kill Jeff... I have too...

"He ruined everything for me!" I clenched the swings chains tightly. "I-I can never be happy... Ever." My voice dissipated. I looked down. I'm so angry and also confused. Why do I feel so weird as I say these words.

I turned my head to where Liu was sitting. He was looking at the sky. The sun was setting and you could see the different shades of orange. He stayed quiet.

That's when I noticed something. The way that the colors of the sunset reflected on him... The yellows and oranges complimented his outlook. His eyes looked so warm but deep down, I could see the coldness. When I think about it, Liu was actually good looking...

My face was getting warm. What am I thinking! I quickly turned my head. What was that about?! I was internally freaking out. "You know Jane..." He began. "I don't think it is impossible to not be happy ever again." My dark eyes widened. wha... I faced him again and caught site of his green eyes. They were looking directly at me. "Well, I'm just saying... You don't know what lies in the future for you." He exclaimed. My heart was beating a little faster. Whats going on!?

Jeff's POV

I was heading my way back to the hotel. My white hoodie was now covered in fresh blood so I had to make my way back through the back alleys. I didn't want to catch any attention. I started to remember the screams of that lady. Her pleas filled me with joy!

I whipped the blood off my knife on my black pants and stuck it in my hoodie pocket. I was walking by when I heard a kid crying to there parents. "But mommy! I saw it!" The child said. I was going to ignore it when I heard him say something that caught my attention. "A monster! She's a monster! She had black eyes mommy! She was going to eat me!" He cried out.

Well well, Jane! scaring little kids I see. I began to chuckle. She was going to eat him huh! Well she might!

"There's no such things as monsters son." Said the man that stood right be side the child. Must have been the father. "But I DID see her! She was at the park!" he yelled back. The woman said "Come on hunny, let's go." I believe she was the mother. "But mooooommmm." That was the last thing I heard before they walked off.

"Well well Janie. Walking out without even notifying me. How cruel." I said with a sneer. I guess I'll go teach you a lession!" I said with a sarcastic tone. I started to walk to the nearest park.

Jane's POV

Liu is so different since the last time I met him. He looked away from me and looked at his feet. Then he stood up. "Liu?" He looked strong and so very calm. He took a deep breath and spun around and looked at me. He then kneeled down in front of me and asked "Will you join me?" his hand was stretched out and shifted it's way towards me.

"W-what?" I managed to say. He put up a smile and exclaimed "Join me. Help me get my... No OUR revenge. Help me kill Jeff."

I just sat there. Was he actually serious. I assume he saw my hesitation on his offer. "Look Jane... You and I are basically the same. We hate Jeff. He did this to us! It's time for us to step up and end him. Make him feel the pain that we feel. Make him pay!"

I gulped, and my right hand unwrapped it's self from the swings chain and slowly made it's way towards Luis. It was almost there until my hand stopped a little. Why am I even thinking about this! I should be taking his offer without a second thought.

"Liu..." Said a husky voice. We turned our head the the direction of that voice.

There, stood a very familiar face. Before I even took his hand, Liu grabbed it and pushed me behind him.

"Ah Jeff. Nice to see you again brother."
