If I had known my chance, then it must have gotten somewhere else. My name is Eldrick von Saphyr. This is my story, my part for this chapter.
It all started when I was 20. It was another day at Black Mesa Research Facility, me being one of the checkers of radiation at Sector C. Gordon, in his HEV Suit, passed by, heading to the chamber. He was 30 minutes late. It was going fine until equipments exploded. Monsters came out from nowhere. I ran, seeing people die. I picked up a monkey wrench, and began to fight the smaller monsters. Luckily, Barney came by. We equipped our way and we entered into Lambda Complex.
In the multiple teleports, I accidentally fell into a teleport which was unstable. The stability of it slingshots people into unwanted places. I was slingshot into... something, else.
And by something else, I mean, really, really else. It was one of those worlds where that one unfamiliar creature was taken from and sent to the Biodome Complex.
I looked around, and recognized the tents we used, and I quickly ran into one, then everything went black.
I woke up with the now-escaped creature looking at me. I was surprised, and then I recollected my memories. Right... she, then stops staring at me then she examines my pens, IDs and other papers.
"W-what the hell are you doing?!" I demand, taking my items as quickly as possible.
"What happened to that science facility, first?" The creature asks, looking more serious. "It suddenly went up, transported me into this weird place, and suppressed my teleporting abilities!"
I knew what she mean. That means her containment failure. Maybe the headcrabs aren't enough. I sat down, looked at the creature which identifies as "unicorn pony." That kinda reminds me of that girl show where the lead characters are "ponies." I smiled a bit, then quickly frowns after she uses her magic to take another look at my ID.
I quickly took it back, which just made the unicorn even more, surprised.
"The event is a Resonance Cascade. Freeman caused the event. Made Xen creatures, those monsters, teleport to us. We tried to escape; only I fell into... this place." I explained.
"Oh." She muttered. "What is your name, Doctor?"
"Dr. Eldrick von Saphyr. One of those 'observers' that took look at you back at Black Mesa." I replied.
I shouldn't have said that. She looked at me sternly, then I also remembered that...
"I tried to release you, actually." I added.
That calmed her nerves. Apparently. Or not, as she lit up her horn, and we studied at it can do magic. Lucky our suppresion system worked... until the event. Twilight Sparkle, looked around and prepared soup. I've always known that they're vegetarians, but they're also friendly...? Maybe the results are fake after all.
As the day passes, I learn of their place. Although the subject, Twilight seems to be serious, I didn't believe it for a while. Then, something weird happened. Not another Xen Portal... I pushed the creature away as I was back. Only a little more surprised. The creature, or maybe I should call it/her Twilight now, did a time spell to get me back. Well, sort of.
I managed to get into the surface with the teleports, and then Barney comes last. We drive out of Black Mesa before the nuke hit. We were safe... until the portal storms came.
Destroyed my house.
7 Hour War against the Combine and then the Administrator placing a treaty.
Now on board to City 2.
Damn it.
