Revenge chapter 2 ~ you lose~

“Lexie? Are you coming with us to the mall or what?” Jenna called out to Lexie. Lexie hadn’t gotten a chance to kiss Shadow; that’s why she growled. Shadow pretended like he wasn’t interested. He just walked away and Lexie trotted over to Jenna and Amber. “You ruined it! I almost kissed him you idiot!” she slapped Jenna. Jenna hissed slightly and looked away “Gee sorry; it’s just last time you forgot us.” Lexie shook her head “Whatever, let’s go.” She led them towards the mall.

Shadow got bored and decided to go see what Sarah was up to. Maybe he could get her to do her homework for once. When he knocked at the door, an upset Luna answered. She looked at Shadow and called to Sarah “Sarah, Shadow is here!” and Sarah came out from her room and looked at Shadow. Shadow looked back at her and Sarah started to laugh. “Are you just gonna stand there? Come in, it’s cold out.” She forgot all her worries around Shadow. Even if he was the reason she had been so upset.

Sarah sat on her bed and Shadow got the comfy roller chair that was in her room. He looked like there was something on his mind. “Something on your mind Shadow?” Sarah asked knowing that look very well. “I keep getting this weird feeling when I’m around Lexie.” He started. “A bad feeling…? Or a good one?” Sarah asked feeling a sharp pain in her chest. “A good one.” Shadow replied slowly. Sarah had been afraid of that; she looked away from Shadow “Oh…” she almost whispered. Shadow looked at her and frowned wondering why she seemed upset.

“She wrote a poem for me today.” He added and started to smile. Sarah felt like she was being stabbed in the chest when she heard that. She thought ‘I write poems for you every day’. “She’s a lot nicer than you think-“ and Sarah didn’t even let Shadow finish. “NICE? YOU THINK SHE’S NICE?! Clearly you haven’t paid attention to the things she’s said to me! She’s told me that I’m fat, she’s called me a fat grape; I get harassed by her EVERY F*CKING DAY! Now you’re saying she’s nice? Get out of my house!” Sarah had broken down crying. When Shadow didn’t move she hissed “I SAID GET OUT!” She screamed with tears pouring down her cheeks. Shadow didn’t understand why she was telling him to leave; he thought Lexie had changed. “Fine.” Is all he said as he left out the door.

Now Sarah really felt all alone she had screamed at Shadow to get out. She had hurt Luna and she didn’t have Carmilla’s phone number so she couldn’t call Carmilla. She didn’t really want anyone around when she was crying anyways; or at least that’s what she told herself. Sarah didn’t even know why she had snapped at Shadow for something as small as saying that Lexie was nice.

Sarah stood up and looked at herself in the mirror; she was startled when the door opened. “What was that yelling about?” Sarah looked over to see Luna standing at the door. “I dunno…I just snapped.” She replied softly. Her sister nodded in understanding.

“I’m making dinner now.” Luna said. Sarah frowned “I’m not hungry” she lied. Luna shook her head “You didn’t eat breakfast, and you’re not hungry for dinner?” she asked within suspicion. “Yep. I did eat lunch though” she added to her lie. She still had Lexie’s words ringing through her head ‘Fat grape’ and she could still hear the laughter of Jenna and Amber. “Alright…I hope you’re not getting sick.” Luna clearly didn’t fully believe Sarah.

Later that night Sarah was asleep; she looked calm, but in reality there was chaos going on in her dreams. She was dreaming about Sean and Misty, her dead twin sister and brother. Sean, Sarah and Misty had been triplets, but only Misty and Sarah looked alike. Misty had been killed by their father years ago and Sarah had no idea what had become of Sean; she thought he was dead too. Misty kept calling Sarah in her dream. She was crying “Misty why are you crying?” Sarah asked. “You betrayed me and Sean. Then you went and hurt Luna, you pushed Shadow away. What kind of a terrible person are you?” Misty growled. “I-I’m sorry I didn’t mean to!” Sarah cried out. “I hope you burn in hell!” Misty screamed before Sarah woke up sweating and crying.
