Kaitlyn's POV

"Oh crap it's 8!"
The movers are probably almost here and I'm not even dressed. I forgot to set my alarm last night. I probably should've set it when I thought of it instead of waiting. I check my phone. 2 missed calls. Yep, the movers are definitely here or, were, at least. When I moved to England at 18, I made the same mistake and almost missed my flight. Wow. Haven't changed much. Why do I always do this? Oh well, I gotta get moving. I brush my teeth and wash my face. I change into plain black leggings and a navy blue tank top with a red plaid long sleeved top over it. I leave the plaid top open. I brush my hair, which I recently dyed back to its natural color, a medium-dark brown. I apply my everyday makeup, which consists of some BB cream, a bit of eyeliner, a few coats of mascara and some Chapstick. I throw on my Green Day beanie and go outside. The movers are here.
"How long have you been waiting?" I ask.
"Not long, only about 15, maybe 20 minutes. We've definitely waited longer." The man in the driver's seat (Larry) says with a laugh.
"Yeah, I can't be the only one who's slept in by accident."
"You aren't. Anyway, if you'll let Mike and Adam in, they'll take care of the boxes for you."
"Ok, I have a few more things I need to pack up anyway." I respond with a smile.
Ok, so what do I need to grab? My makeup, my phone and charger, my laptop and charger, the blanket and the mattress I slept on. That's about it. I grab all of my stuff and go back downstairs. Mike and Adam are almost done with the boxes and I tell them I'm ready to go. They get the rest of the boxes ready to go in a couple more trips. Wait! I forgot I put my cat Anna (along with her food and water) in the basement. I can't believe I almost forgot her!
"Wait!" I yell.
"What?" Larry shouts back.
"I forgot about my cat! She's in the basement and I need to get her! Close the door and wait a minute while I get her and her food and water dishes into the cat carrier!"
"Ok I got her, let me get the carrier into my car and I'll be right behind you!"
"Ok we'll meet you there," yells Larry.
"Ok!"
I set her carrier in the passenger seat and get in. She meows and I respond "It's ok honey we're gonna be there in 10 minutes. It's not too long before you have a new house to explore!"
I arrive at the house and unlock the door for the movers. I put Anna in a bedroom so she doesn't have to sit in a carrier anymore. They move all the boxes in and it only takes them about 20 minutes. The first thing I do is set up my bed. Then I place the couch where I like and set up my TV and gaming consoles. I set up my recording area in my room with my laptop and wifi. I set up my kitchen table and other furniture and before I know it, it's 2pm. I decide to go over to the neighbors and introduce myself. First, to my right, I knock on the door. A young woman in her mid-20s answers the door.
"Hello, I'm the new neighbor, Kaitlyn. I thought I'd come over and introduce myself."
"Hey, I'm Melissa. I have been living here for a bit. I could show you around sometime. Maybe we could go to the mall."
"Sure, maybe once I get settled we can hang out. Anyway, I gotta go but I'll see you around."
"Bye."
Now I go to the neighbor on my left. I wonder who I'll meet.
