chapter 20

Ana's POV .

" I am going to get engaged to my personal assistant Miss Williams . " with this he kissed me in front of the whole reporters and I could feel so many eyes staring at us .

I don't know what is going to happen inside the ballroom .

😄😄😄😄

Oh my god .. I guess the reporters were a lot better than the people inside the ballroom. 

Atleast , the reporters ask directly what they want but the people inside act  as two in one . They act as if they are really happy for us and behind our backs the really say rubbish. 

Right now I am standing in the middle of the stage where we are supposed to get engaged. 

" Thank you for gathering here ladies and gentleman . I would like to introduce my fiance to everyone standing here. She , the gorgeous lady in the blue gown is the one I am going to get married to . " Xavier looking right into my eyes . He winked at me and continued his speech " Everyone present here is going to be the witness of my proposal to this gorgeous lady . " All the lights in the ballroom was switched off and there was a spotlight which was focusing me and Xavier in the middle of the stage .

" The day when you entered my life was one of the best day . You were there for an interview but at that exact moment I know that you are going to be something more than that in my life. You brightened up my dark life with your smile. And now I would like to make your life beautiful . "

Tears pooled up in my eyes . He went on his knees with a blue velvet box on his hand .

" Will you marry me and be with me even after death do us apart Ana ? " he completed looking deep into my eyes and I nodded with tears falling down. 

He slipped a diamond ring 💍 in my finger and kissed me  passionately . I don't care about what the others think but right now I am in his arms and that's what matters .

As his lips left mine I heard many hands clapping , some cheering and some wierd looks of people.  Ofcourse know one dared to say it to Xavier .

We both got down and the party got started on its own after Mr knight's speech.  Maybe he never thought this would happen because there was a look of hurt and anger in his eyes. 

But I guess Xavier didn't care about it . After that he introduced me to some of his business people and also some people whom I have already met during the meetings. 

I could feel someone's eyes burning holes and I looked back only to find Amelia and her parents giving me a look of     'what the hell do you think you are doing ? ' of course I don't cae about that .

A few hours later we both left the party and went back to his mansion . The ride back was quite and comfortable.  As soon as we entered the mansion I felt a pair of hands around my waist and a chin rested on my shoulder. 

" I love you Ana . And I am happy that today went well . " He said kissing my neck and I just stood there standing like a dumbo. 

Well , what do you expect me to do , his lips on my neck .. imagine what will you do if you are in my position.

I was about to turn and face him when the doors burst open revealing Amelia and her parents accompanied by Xavier's angry father .

" Shit . Ana , go inside my room and don't open it until I call you okay ? " He said in a serious tone and took me to his room.

He made me sit in his room and said " Don't worry.  Everything will be alright " . He kissed my forehead and left the room .

The door closed . Since I didn't have any other option I drifted off to sleep.
