The next few days were normal and boring, but today was different. Aizawa was tired as usual, yawning and stretching before he walked up to the podium. "We've been hearing that you're all stressed lately, so as a class we are going on a trip to the beach." 1-A erupted into cheers, everyone was excited. "Go get your swimsuits from your dorm rooms and meet outside the school in 1 hour. We'll be at the beach all day, so don't forget anything. There's no need to get lunches, we'll be visiting a restaurant when you all get hungry. If you're not there by the time the hour is up, we'll leave without you." The students eagerly stumbled out of class and raced to the dorms, whooping and shouting as they went through the halls. Ochako was buzzing with excitement, quickly darting into her room so she could find what she needed. She dug in her closet for what she needed, grabbing her pink bikini, sandals, sunglasses, and an extra pair of clothes. Uraraka also brought her sunscreen so she wouldn't get burned. As she jogged to the bus, she passed Tsuyu. She slowed down a bit, turning to her friend. The green-haired girl was in a striped mini dress and had a large sun hat that flopped around when she moved.
"Tsu, we're going to the beach! I can't believe it!"
"Me too, this was better than what I expected, ribbit."
"Yeah, I'm so glad we aren't going to a museum!"
"Let's hurry before we miss the bus." Asui took her hand, and the two girls jogged to the bus to find most of the class waiting for them. Everyone was excited, and they all went into the bus. The seats near the back were quickly taken by Bakugo and his friends, while the seats up front were taken by Midoriya and his friends, leaving the middle relatively free and vacant of any 'main characters' as Bakugo would say. Uraraka quickly took a window seat near the back as she started humming. "Ochako, can I sit with you?" Tsuyu smiled sweetly, making it impossible for Ochako to refuse, though she would never refuse in the first place.
"Of course, Tsu!" Uraraka pat the seat next to her, and Tsu sat down. "Are you excited?"
"Yes, I love the water. Though I prefer the rain over the beach, water is still water." She shrugged, leaning to look out the window. "Hey, is that Mineta?"
Ochako turned, seeing Mineta in the distance with multiple cameras wrapped around his neck as he was blushing furiously, nearly drooling already. he was hobbling to the bus since the many cameras slowed him down, but he was coming slowly but surely. Both girls cringed. "He's bringing cameras? You don't think he would take pictures of us, right?"
Tsuyu gave her a blank stare, "This is Mineta we're talking about, he has no boundaries."
"Hey, Aizawa Sensei! The hour is up!" Ochako shouted, pointing outside the window.
Aizawa looked back, seeing her desperation, then looked at Mineta bringing practically a mountain of cameras. He didn't even bother to checked his clock. "Actually, it ended a few minutes ago, let's go." He started to drive, and all the girls silently cheered that the pervert wasn't coming. Mineta started to shout and try to wave the bus down, but he was too slow to catch up. The bus rattled a bit as they drove over the roads, making their way to the beach. Students talked to their friends, the conversations being fairly loud because everyone else was talking too.
"What bathing suit did you pack?" Uraraka turned to Tsuyu, "I brought a pink bikini!"
"A black one-piece, ribbit."
"Cute!"
"Thanks. Did you notice the power outage last night?"
"There was a power outage?"
"Yeah, Denki was leaning against an outlet and sneezed a couple times. It wiped out the whole dormitory's electricity."
Uraraka laughed, "Well it's good that they fixed it, I didn't know Denki could do that with just a few sneezes!"
"Mm hmm." Tsuyu nodded in agreement, "It's crazy to think that just a few decades ago no one had quirks, and now we have hero schools."
"You're right, I can't imagine what life would be like without my quirk. We'd all be super boring!"
"Probably." Tsuyu mused, raising a finger to her lips as she thought. "I'd probably look pretty different, since my quirk affects how I look a bit, ribbit."
"Well I think you look amazing just the way you are!" Ochako blurted out without thinking, then quickly realized what she had said and turned a dark shade of crimson. Tsuyu turned pink, staring at Uraraka for a moment with her trademark blank stare, before her eyes shone and she grinned.
"You're really sweet, Ochako. Thank you."
Uraraka was panicking, but also happy. She was relieved that Tsu didn't get weirded out, and she grew a nervous grin as she tried to play it off as if she meant to say that. "Y-Yeah, of course!"
Meanwhile, Asui had to stop herself from jumping around in excitement. Uraraka had said such a nice compliment, she felt like she was on top of the world. Ochako thought that she looked amazing! Tsuyu was so happy that she felt the need to compliment her back. "You look pretty too, you have such nice eyes."
Ochako's heart nearly stopped, Tsuyu was complimenting her back? She blinked a few times before the reality struck her. "T-Thank you!"
The two girls looked away to hide their blushing faces, both mentally screaming inside from how cute and kind the other was.
"Holy fuck, just kiss already!" Bakugo shouted from the back of the bus.
Both girls blushed even more, opening their mouths to protest as the turned around to see Bakugo and his friends all watching intently. "It's like a soap opera!" Ashido bounced in her seat, "I wish I brought popcorn!"
The two looked at each other for a brief moment, getting lost in each other's eyes for just a split second, before they turned away. "We're just friends." They stated in sync, turning around in their seats and settling down.
"Aww.." Denki pouted, crossing his arms.
"You guys shouldn't assume." Asui grumbled, sulking in her seat as she wished she was invisible like Hagakure.
"She's right, that wasn't very manly of you guys." Kirishima elbowed his friends, giving them a small scolding. "Sorry about them, you two."
"It's okay." Uraraka mumbled, rubbing her arms as she looked out the window. The group started talking to each other again, while Tsuyu and Ochako stayed quiet. Neither knew what to say to the other, but the only thing that was bugging them out of the whole conversation was that they both admitted that they were only friends.
"Hey, Ochako?" Tsuyu was the first one to break the silence.
"Yeah?"
The girl reached over, gently tucking a stray strand of hair behind Uraraka's ear. Ochako froze up, was Tsuyu really going to kiss her? She realized she wouldn't be upset if that happened, but Asui leaned away after moving her hair. "You had some hair in your face."
"O-oh, thanks Tsu." Uraraka let out breath she didn't know she was holding in.
"No problem, ribbit."
In the seat behind them, Bakugo was quietly losing his shit, tugging fistfuls of his hair as he mouthed to his friends: "I swear to God, they need to just fucking kiss and get it over with. I don't want to see this gushy shit." His friends snickered and pat him on the back as the bus finally reached its destination.
