Parents, lunch and drama

At school during lunch Amelia and link and hanging out together just chatting and sitting on a bench enjoying some time together alone before their little one arrives in a couple of months time "did it tell you mom wants to meet your parents and wants to come to the gender ultrasound. Is that cool with you?" Amelia asked "I'll have to talk to my parents since they're not getting along at all at the moment, you know I tried to get them back together but it didn't work." Link said sadly "what no way how?" Amelia asked intrigued "I tried to parent trap them, told them both I wanted to go to a movie with each separately but it didn't work cause they figured out what I was doing and hate each other" link said "oh that's sad, well maybe just your mom then?" Amelia asked again "I'm sure she would love to, I'll text her and see if we can set up a time and place. When's good for your mom?" Link said getting his phone it to message his mother "most likely a Friday or Saturday evening it seems to be easier and have more time to talk." Amelia suggested just as links phone buzzed "perfect mom said Saturday she's free and able to go." Link said just as the first bell for class goes.

At home that evening Amelia tells her mom that Saturday is fine with links mom but his dad won't be there as they're going through some issues at the moment, Nancy of course butts in and tried to get herself invited as well Carolyn politely tells her that she's nit invited and its parents and amelia and link only as it's to discuss stuff she's not involved in of course with tyts Nancy gets moody and goes moaning about Amelia to Kathleen so then Kathleen gets upset with Amelia too "why do you even want to come? it's nothing to even do with you guys." Amelia said a bit rude but annoyed her sisters are trying to gang up on her again when the girls are left alone and Carolyn is at work. Amelia goes to her room to get some space and quiet away from the bitchy twins and calls Derek "hey, sorry to call but moms not here and they're being really mean and ganging up on me just because they're not invited to this dinner which is parents only and even mom told them so." Amelia says starting to get angry with the situation "do your want me to come over, they'll probably leave you alone if I'm there?" Derek asked "no it's not fair on you or Addie when it's date night I was just calling to vent my feelings, link doesn't really get it as he's an only child and Michelle isn't answering her phone for some reason." Amelia said and sighed "honestly it's fine if you need us to come over, just call me again if they give you any more trouble." Derek said "thanks you're the best brother, I think I'm going to try sleeping now this baby makes me so sleepy." Amelia said yawning "aww well again call me if you need anything , night" Derek said before hanging up the phone. As soon as Amelia's head hit the pillow she was asleep.

Saturday evening is finally here and time for Amelia and links moms to meet, they're both nervous hoping everything will be okay and they will get along, they're meeting at Amelia's favourite Italian restaurant and where her and link had their first proper date out. Link and his mom Maureen are already there when Amelia and Carolyn arrive and they get up to greet them Amelia sits down next to link Carolyn next to Maureen opposite Amelia. "I love Italian this is my favourite place." Amelia said to try release of the awkwardness that's around "oh that's great, I like Italian too but have never been here before." Maureen says politely "that's why we picked to come here right Mia" link said taking her hand in his knowing she's nervous as to how this will all go as some drinks arrive "I guess we shouldn't best around the bush as we all know why were here, were all family now and need to get along and it was well overdue that we met anyway since these two have been dating a long time." Carolyn started off  "I do have to say I am very proud of these two, they've grown up a lot and have a lot more responsibility coming to them, a baby and place of their own in the near future." Maureen says "we have been looking at places but cant find anything in our price range, I'm working all the hours and time I can. We have lost of the stuff for baby though." Link says "Addie and Derek did say we could stay with them when the baby is born so we have some of our own space and can be all together as a family." Amelia suggests everyone just looks at her "i really don't know if that's the best idea amelia." Carolyn says "I actually think it's a great idea, you can have your own space and be able to be together but still able to save money for a place of your own." Maureen says "I love the idea." Link said "mom come on, you don't seriously think I'd of wanted to have the baby and bring it back to your I mean no offence to you but I barely even have my own room as it is and I don't want my kid growing up around my sisters and him/her seeing how they treat me." Amelia said starting to her upset at the thought of how mean her sisters are to her "I see your point amelia but I don't think it's the best idea." Carolyn still dismisses the idea "why not?" Amelia asked annoyed "because I'm your mother and know what is best for you, your not even 18 yet and still a minor and I am your mother." Carolyn said sternly "this isn't fair" Amelia yelled "that snit fair, I don't think it's fair my teenage daughter got pregnant and didn't tell me until she got caught out by one of her sisters and was so far along couldn't even have an abortion" Carolyn said angrily Amelia gave her a dirty look and got up and stormed to the car outside link followed her leaving his mom inside with Carolyn "I don't know you or your family situation at all very well but I don't think that was very nice or the best way to handle the situation, it will just make her pull away even more." Maureen said. "We've never had a great relationship and I thought this baby might bring us closer but it's made things worse, her sisters don't help things and neither does her brother keel offering her to stay there and buy things for her she needs to learn what a hard world it is." Carolyn says bitterly "I understand however everything you say has an in pact on her and isn't right. I know your just trying to protect her but just babying her really won't  help, she will just pull away more." Maureen said "I should apologise when they comeback in." Carolyn said looking outside and seeing link comforting Amelia.
"How could she say those awful things link, I thought we were finally good and getting in well. I guess the bay has just made everything worse, this is why I didn't want to tell them and just move in with Addie and Derek without her knowing." Amelia said drying her face with a napkin link grabbed in his way out the restaurant, "I know babe it's mean but I can see where she's coming from in a way." Link said amelia looked at him "what are you saying? Are you telling me you don't want this baby now because if you don't just leave now I'll do it all on my own." Amelia said turning away from him "Mia I didn't mean it like that you know I want the baby but it's just hard I can see your moms point of view are you telling me if we had a daughter and she was in this situation you'd be perfectly fine with it?" Link asked "no I guess not, she's never supported me in anything though and all I want to do is raise this baby in a better environment than I live in now and we have that opportunity to do that, it's only up the road from where my mom lives anyway I don't see her problem with it." Amelia starts ranting "I know babe, she just thinks that it would be better for you to be there to have her support." Link said cuddling Amelia "I guess but I dint want to raise the baby there and she's not listening to my reasons or feelings" Amelia said "let's go back in then you can explain to her more." Link said grabbing her hand starting to walk back and Amelia follows and they sit back down and it's silent for a few minutes "I'm sorry for what I said amelia I didn't mean it I was just angry and upset with you wanting to leave so soon." Carolyn apologises "I understand but I just want you to understand that I want my baby to have the best life it can and if that means not living with you then that's what it will be, I don't want him/her growing up with the same way I did having my sisters being awful and mean cause the baby doesn't deserve that and hasn't done anything wrong" amelia explains quietly " I understand, I'm just worried you will end up in your own and it will be hard I don't want you to struggle and then I'm not there to help." Carolyn says "I'll always be there for Mia and the baby no matter what happens. It will be easier if we lived together and you live around the corner to Derek and Addison so you would put be far if we ever needed help it anything, and just think if the baby isn't there then you won't be woken up at night and get all the good times none of the screaming." Link said trying to help Amelia, "I won't be far either, trust me I'm scared and nervous about this too but they'll never get anywhere if we don't let them do this alone as a family together." Maureen says "okay well how about a trial run at dereks for a few months after the baby is born and if it's not working you can come back and link could stay whenever he wanted." Carolyn agreed "sounds great thank you for finally understanding mom." Amelia said getting up to hug her mother "I just want you happy amelia that's all I've ever wanted." Carolyn says hugging Amelia back. The rest of the meal went smoothly and they all had a nice conversation about everything to do with the baby and some stuff even not about the baby.
