Rooms with clocks. You tend to get trapped there and there is usually no ethical way out of that situation. Also caves with clocks. I've watched a few kids try to navigate a seemingly endless cave of different pathways. Time and multiple "exits" give you the illusion of opportunity, and guides who don't know that clocks = bad normally send the player on a wild goose chase of impossible escape. I've seen one person exit a room of clocks. They travelled downwards until they got to a roof. Two bystanders watching with me said that a boy in another class had found their way to the roof, (under different circumstances) and without telling the player about the place the player almost perfectly described the roof. Sometimes the games overlap and it's wild what you can piece together.
The man in the tophat and tuxedo. (or anything with a tophat or a tuxedo) I have only seen one player meet the man in the tuxedo, (surprisingly) They descended down a trap door from a room that had a tendency to change color and also a vase. When they ascended again, The man was there. We shook her awake immediately.
The old lady with the long tongue. (or anything with a long tongue) This lady was seen on the roof, (the same one mentioned earlier) and she kept telling the player to jump of the roof into the endless mist. She promised that it was safe and that it was safer down here than up there. The same lady was on the roof for the other player who had travelled there. Although she had different colored eyes, I guess that doesn't really matter. The player of my round had jumped against the guide's wishes, and lucky for her it wasn't game over. She had landed on something indescribable and squishy, which I can't really go in depth about something described as being indescribable. Even if my player reached a mildly yeety happy ending on a ferris wheel, this was not the correct way to handle the situation. You should shake the person awake immediately. Also, notice that I said "my" player. The boy who met the lady had been strangled by her tongue and is now doomed to join the game after death. Nice going, Brittany.
Red eyes. Red eyes are extremely dangerous and manifest in many different ways. If the player describes anything that functionally works as an eye as "red" shake them awake immediately. This also includes lenses of cameras and telescope. The things themselves can be red, it's chill, but honestly don't take your chances. Normally the color red is a taboo.
Interchanging color eyes. This is not a dangerous thing (as far as I am certain) it's just curious. They tend to change with the pattern of which the player imagined the color of the doors and the same goes for rooms and other things that change color. It's a massive coincidence, and although I've only ever played void rounds (which is what I coined as a round where I can't save players and nothing gets done) I've heard other people realize this after they've played their round. Please look out for this, I want to know more about this phenomenon.
When everything is an esscesive amount black. I find that when players describe a shit ton of things they find as black they are harder to wake up, and they encounter more dangerous situations. I only have one person that I, IN PERSON, watched go through this, and they died. This is a serious bad omen and I have kind of linked it to people with dark minds, people who have attempted suicide/self harm, and people who have recently lost loved ones. I was lucky enough to watch the star asshole of this guide send a player into a dead session (I've coined this for a session which is mostly black/the player dies.) where she told the poor girl to jump into a lake where she drowned with a noose around her neck. FUCKING BRITTANY. Dead sessions should be woken up immediately, BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE. (I mean without seriously harming the player, dipshits.) Splash some water, shake them awake, poke them really hard. Bitch slap them. Tickle their feet. We couldn't wake up the dead player until I hit them with the English textbook, I got into so much trouble. I look back on that now as unnessacary, as they've already died, but if their corpse gets too mangled players might flee the game at the sight of them and they won't be saved.
Corpses/people you know are dead but look alive #dream logic. These might possed dead players or y'know dead players. You can only help them if you left all the doors open, which is excessively dangerous, as monsters and traps will find you and occur more often, because, I mean, they obviously don't want you bailing people out. They can posses dead players and I suggest anybody who is not prepared to become one does not even attempt to help these people. It's dirty, and they have red eyes. They look terrifying. You can feel their fear and dread just by looking at them. I've only heard descriptions, but the one that shook me the most was: Player: It understands. Guide: What does it understand? Player: It understands I can't help him. Guide: why would you help it? Player: It's like me. It was a player. Guide: Nani, bish. What the frick frack are you talking about? Player: It's a dead player. It's gone because I closed the window. Guide: How does it make you feel? Player: It's indifferent. But it's not indifferent. It feels normal. Its not the only person dead here. It's sad. But it's desperate. But it understands. It understands. It really does. | Ok keep in mind this was the 3rd time I'd ever watched a game, and it was the last round, they shook her awake after that because 1, we were kinda scared 2, she had gone the first time and wanted to play again so that pissed the next person in line off (ME) 3, She had been the first to actually do something other than just walk around and look at things until they saw something with red eyes, so we realized this was above our skill level. Plus I didn't feel like taking my turn anymore and dissolved back into my corner of a social group.
Checker boards. Checker boards are traps every single time. Damnit Homestuck.
I'd tell you the story but I'm all spooked out. I will now proceed to wait for my valiant door dash hero to bring me my meat ball sub in frightened silence. Have a good day my midnight children.
