"Bear? Darcy?"
I saw a blurry face and the silhouette of a tall boy crouched over me. Someone was holding my hand and I suspected it was this boy. He wouldn't come into focus no matter how hard I tried to see him.
"It's going to be ok. You're ok." Lie. It was Noah. What's Noah doing here? I was lying down on a hard surface. There was a throbbing pain in my arm and my body felt heavy.
"I can't believe you let her get this bad. Stupid, stupid." A second voice spoke as the silhouette walked into my view of the person who spoke. Alex. I didn't remember where I was or how I got there. "It's infected." Alex cursed quietly. I felt Noah's hand leave my hand and go to my forehead.
"She's hot." Noah said solemnly while he put his hand back down. I felt hot tears leak out of my eyes as my hand searched for Noahs again.
"It hurts." I cried deliriously as I grabbed his hand. Tears streamed down my face, staining it. Noah squeezed my hand and turned towards Alex who had been pacing.
"She needs a doctor. It's infected and she could die."
"She's not going to die for the last lime Noah."
"Then what's going to happ---"
"Nothing! We will just have to clean it now and try to get the fever down. Take that stupid hoodie off of her and we'll figure it out from there. We can't go to a doctor that would blow the whole operation and technically the FBI has jurisdiction so we have to be discrete." Alex rambled. "I don't want anybody getting involved in this---"
"What about us?" Noah yelled. "Are we nobody to you? My parents are going to kill you. They are going to kill me. I...I had no idea." He ended quietly.
"It's not your fault. I have to go get some water and ice so we can get the fever down." Alex said, his shadow walking out of the room. Then I slipped out of consciousness.
---------------
I was in and out of consciousness for the next day. Every time I woke up, Noah was sitting next to me. He would jump to my bedside and ask what I needed. I wondered when the last time he slept was. He always seemed to be by my side, looking at me with concern.
The pain in my arm was always aching my body. I woke up from pain constantly. Alex was sometimes in the room when I woke up, but never looked me in the eye.
I don't know how long I had been lying there, but I heard muffled crying. I opened my eyes to see Noah holding my hand with tears falling down his face looking down. I squeezed his hand and he looked up. I gave my best attempt at smiling at him. He laughed through tears.
"You look like hell, Bear."
I tried to tell him that he didn't look any better, but I couldn't talk.
"That would be the medicine we gave you. You shouldn't be able to talk for a bit." He said. I wanted him to keep talking. I was calming to hear his smooth voice. But I just fell asleep again.

I woke up to someone shaking me. It was Alex.
"He's gone Dracy, his parents took him, he's gone."
