!! curse warning !!
      !! blood warning !!

[TUBBO POV]

I cupped my hands around my soup, blinking dried blood out of my eyes. The day had been painful, and of course the revolutionaries were falling behind. The Dream SMP was stocked to the brim with shining armor, sharpened swords, and steaming hot food. They were living like kings, perched atop towers of blackstone and lanterns. And their leader, Dream, was overseeing it all.

He was always a step ahead of the game. Extra supplies were hidden in treetops, food buried in chests under the dirt, and God knows what else.

A day ago my old house had been burned into the ground. Only glass shards and splinters of wood lay in its place. I hadn't lived there, but the area was still his property. I remembered the rage I felt, an emotion mostly uncommon in me. Tommy had also done his part to fuel that rage.

"They did WHAT?" Tommy had shouted, balling his fists at his sides. His shoulders were shaking in anger, and his face screwed up. "I shoulda fought those bastards, the right lot of 'em!" I  covered my ears for a second, trying to block out the blunt of Tommy's yells.

"I don't live there anymore Tommy. I moved to the jungle," I reasoned. I didn't want my friend to do something stupid over me. Tommy scoffed.

"But what if you were getting something from there? They didn't even bother to check if you were inside before lighting the shit!" His words were slurred together, but the message got across clearly. I sighed, feeling tired.

"Let's just go back to L'manburg. Maybe Wilbur can do something about it." Tommy grudgingly shuffled on the path next to me, walking quietly for once. The wooden path was beaten down, and chunks were missing from certain steps. I focused on my foot placement and kept a keen eye out for Dream SMP members. I hadn't seen any today, and me and Tommy would've gotten in huge trouble if they'd realized they were on Dream SMP land.

I snuck a glance at Tommy, whose features were still angry and frustrated. But he was always like that. I missed a step, and ran into Tommy's arm. Tommy released a rude noise and pushed me off.

"Tubbo stop being so clingy. It's annoying, and I'm trying to walk on the path here." Tommy fixed his gaze to the path again and I smiled. "Sorry Tommy." The pair walked past the SMP towers and houses, shooting mean glances. We arrived over the hill, and L'manburg's black walls stood tall and proud. I couldn't help but be excited at independence. A place where I was apart of something new. They crossed under the arch, and saw Wilbur flipping through a book.

"Wilbur! Big man, we're back," Tommy greeted Wilbur excitedly, running forward to meet him. Wilbur Soot lowered his book, and rolled his eyes. He was wearing a classy buttoned tailcoat, with lace sleeves and neck ruffles. Wilbur looked like a president.

"Glad you're back, Tommy." Tommy grinned, pushing back his blonde hair out of his blue eyes. I beamed at Wilbur. Wilbur was like a father to Tommy and I, and we relied on his approval for a lot of things. The leader set down his book.

"Where were you two?" He asked, giving Tommy a hard look. Tommy cleared his throat, nervously shifting back on his heels. "Tubbo made me go." I protested loudly, glaring at Tommy. "No, we had just gone to visit my house in the SMP. Tommy went willingly, I swear." I looked at Tommy, towering over me at 6'3. Wilbur was silent, staring at Tommy and I. His voice got quiet and deadly.

"Tubbo. I told you that if you ever went into the SMP, you had to take me. Do you know what could've happened? That's right. You could've died. Then how would Tommy feel? How would you feel if Tommy died? It's too dangerous to go there just for an evening stroll. You two are important to me, and you could be used as bargaining chips. And everyone knows I will give up independence for you both. Don't screw this up for L'manburg," Wilbur was frozen, his warning ringing in my ears. Tommy was solemn, eyes locked on his shoes. I nodded meekly.

Wilbur brightened. "Excellent! Now, what was so important that you had to cross over? Tubbo, I want your answer." I started to speak, my tongue sluggish in my mouth.

"I heard news that they burned down my old house. So Tommy wanted to go with me to check," I answered quietly. It was the truth.  Wilbur laced his fingers, thinking. Then he got up and came to a stop right in front of me. Then Wilbur Soot hugged me.

I stiffened, then hugged him back. He was quite a bit taller than me, and his hug was warm and comforting. I spotted Tommy behind Wilbur, slack-jawed and surprised. I grinned at him, and stuck out my tongue. Wilbur had just let me go before I heard Tommy start to talk.

"You fucker Tubbo! You arrogant son of a bitch! Do that again and I'm gonna start stabbing shit!" I was silent, and let him cuss me out. "You did that just to spite me, didn't you? I bet you did, you bastard. Just wait until I get my vlog knife out. Yeah, you won't be too happy about that!"

Wilbur pursed his lips, turning to face Tommy. Tommy noticed, and immediately fell silent.

"Sorry Wilbur," he muttered. I snickered, and walked over to the hot dog van. A shadow fell on my face, and I looked up carelessly. A shape darted along the L'manburg wall, sneaking in building blocks to an unknown structure. I squinted, catching the ends of a headband in my line of sight. My stomach dropped, and I shouted.

"WILBUR! TOMMY! WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!" My yells echoed up the walls, and the figure sprinted to meet another shadow. This one was sporting a hoodie and a crossbow. My mind went blank with fear and panic. Dream. Wilbur was screaming, yelling at Tommy to get up there. I tossed my sword from my inventory into my hand, and ran for the ladders up the walls. The weight of the diamond sword weighed me down slightly, but I still nimbly leapt onto the wooden rungs. I scampered up, readying myself for battle. I surfaced on the wall, and spotted Tommy opposite me. He dove for a figure that I knew was Dream. The maniac himself was extremely fast, weaving and dodging like an actual shadow.

Sapnap was the first one I had seen, with a white headband curled around his head. He raised his sword, sprinting at me. I tried not to show the knocking of my knees. He jabbed, and I barely blocked with my shield. He was already breathing heavily, and that was my only advantage. I was fast, and dodged another blow. On the next play, he noticed my footing. I started to weave one way, then Sapnap shoved his sword at my head.

The next thing I knew was that I was on the ground. Ringing filled my ears, and warm sticky blood coated the blackstone next to me. I didn't see Sapnap, but that might've been because the blood got into my eyes. I coughed, feeling fuzzy all over. I heard distant yells from the other side of the wall, including my name. The white noise was too loud. Everything went dark
