Larry POV

I glance up as the door opens. Sal walks in with some food.

"You get me anything?" I ask.

"Yep," Sal sets the bag on the table. He hands me a breakfast sandwich.

"Thanks man," I say before digging in.

I start to wonder why Sal was looking so happy. He'd been acting kinda depressed since he'd arrived here. I mean, not having your therapy animal was a sure part of his dower mood, but him actually grinning to himself was a bit surprising.

"What's got you all happy?" I ask through a mouthful of food.

Sal seemed to realize he was grinning and blushes embarrassedly. I was so glad he was comfortable taking off his prosthetic. Around us so I could see his cute face.

"I-it's nothing," He mumbles.

"It sure doesn't seem like nothing," I tease. "What, you get a girlfriend or something?"

"No!" Sal's face turns a brighter red. "I just,... may have gotten a date for this weekend."

I feel my heart sink into my stomach. I had only been joking. I didn't really want this to happen. "That's great, dude."

Sal gives a small laugh before continuing to eat his food.

Why did things like this have to happen whenever I wanted to tell Sal how I felt?
