I decided that they're eleven/twelve in this book. That seems like the right age, right?

WebbyBonilla my good ol' friend here made a beautiful cover and be sure to thank her for it!!!!

"Louie, you can't just keep that to yourself."

I was shocked, but somehow not surprised when I heard what Louie said.

I mean, it made sense why he'd feel that way, but it still stung a little. He's one of my best friends, and he's just keeping everything so bottled up.

"I'm not keeping it to myself. I just told you, and if people around here actually cared about me they'd know if too."

That kinda hurt. Of course everyone cares about him, he's family! Everything that's happened lately has been us showing him we care!

"Louie that's not fair. I feel like through everything, we always have to tell you we care. Why can't you just accept it?"

He scoffs and starts drawing.

"Why do you care? This is what I mean, Webby! You sit here telling me how much you've all done for me, when you should just be helping me! God knows you all think you're doing something so great when you tell me to accept it. You're not. Actually helping would be accepting the fact that I don't feel welcome in this house, and helping me."

Louie furiously tore his drawing in half and stood up, grabbing his backpack.

"I'll be back later."

He left the door open, which I was kind of happy for. That way of Huey or Dewey came in they'd see me.

I didn't know if I should follow Louie or stay put. I wanted to follow, but I couldn't find it in me to talk to him. What if he hates me now?

"Webby?"

I looked up to see Huey.

"Oh. Hey Huey."

"What are you doing in our room? And have you seen Louie?"

"Oh, I'm yeah. He said he'll be back later."

I paused for a moment. Should I tell Huey about what Louie said?

"Louie's having a hard time getting close because of Luca isn't he?" Huey said suddenly, standing at their desk, back facing me.

"What? Y-Yeah, but how did you know?"

Huey turned around and handed me a couple pieces of ripped paper.

On one side was a picture of the old Louie and a creepy shadow with red eyes.

One the other side there were words.

Louie's POV

I don't know why I told Webby anything. Now she's gonna tell the whole family and I'm gonna get at least three lectures and a group hug.

I didn't want to be near the mansion right now. It was to stressful. Everything in my life was stressful. I just wanted to make everything go away, to be numb from all of it.

The words echoed in my head. I just want to be numb. Make everything go away. Too stressful.

Should I? I mean I bought them just in case, but I'm so young. I would be killing myself. But it would make everything go,away, just for a moment.

I reached my hand into my pocket and pulled out a lighter, staring at it.

Was I really doing this?

Yep. Yes I was.

I put my other hand in the opposite pocket and grasped a small box.

My cigarettes.

Dewey's POV

Huey and Webby left the room almost an hour ago. This was good for me because I had some snooping to do.

Last week I saw Louie come in our room and shove something in his desk drawer, acting really suspicious.

I hadn't really got the time to see what it was but now I could.

I opened the drawer to be met with piles of paper but I instantly started throwing them in the floor.

There has to be something, anything, that he was hiding.

I had managed to get about three-quarters of the papers out before something caught my eye.

It was a small box, with paper wrapped around it too. I tore of the paper and nearly choked on my saliva.

I was holding a box of Louie's secret cigarettes.
