Christmas came in no time and I was staying at the school instead of going back home to my aunts. "Knight to E5." Harry chosen where to go and his piece moves across the board as Ron thinks for a moment."Queen to E-5." His queen walks over to E-5 and clinks the knight away. "That's totally barbaric!" Hermione says seeing how the game was played. "That's wizard's chess." I tell her as Ron smiles. "I see you've packed." He sees her luggage. "See you haven't." She tells him. "Change of plans. My parents decided to go to Romania to visit my brother, Charlie. He's studying dragons there!" Ron tells her and she then looks at me, "I didn't feel like going back home to my aunts." I tell her.

"Good. You both can help Harry, then. He's going to go the library for information on Nicholas Flamel." She tells us make Ron whines, "We've looked a hundred times!" She leans closer to the table, "Not in the restricted section...Happy Christmas." She says leaving us. "I think we've had a bad influence on her." Ron says. "You think? Well have fun playing I'm going to my room." I smile getting up from the table. "You remember the password right for when you want to come visit?" Ron asks me as I walk off. "I remember it!" I wave leaving the hall. At first a lot of Gryffindors weren't open arms with me as a Slytherin coming into their common room or sitting at their table at time. Once that saw how friendly I was and close to Ron, Harry, Hermione, Neville, and the twins they started to like me. A few of them remember when I got sorted the hat had trouble between putting me in Gryffindor and Slytherin so yeah.

"I never noticed how close you are to some Gryffindors." A girl says as I walk over to my bed next to hers. "Well I don't always make it noticeable because of what house I'm in and this house really hates them." I laugh sitting on my bed. "My older brother is in Slytherin too but him and my parents are disappointed in me because I'm not happy here. That's sorta why I'm stuck here while he goes on vacation with them." You could hear the sadness in her voice. "That's just terrible! I'm so sorry, your house shouldn't make them change their view on you. You're their daughter." I get up going to her bed. "I just want to know why I got put here?" She tears up. "Being a Slytherin doesn't mean you're going to be a bad witch. You're just hardworking and desire success. We are known to achieve great things, even if not always good things. We are also determined and resourceful."

"I remember seeing you didn't want to be a Slytherin either along with Evelyn." She looks over at Evelyn's empty bed. "Yeah, you are not wrong but we got used to it now. She was raised by a pure blood family, she's a muggle born by the way. And my dad was a Slytherin, I'm a half blood." She smiles. "I'm a pureblood that disagrees with my parents." I smile, "When Evelyn gets back, the three of us are going to be best friends." I make her get a bigger smile. "That sounds really nice. I have yet made a friend until now. I've been keeping to myself. Also the name is Ava Taylor." We both get up going to hang out in the common room and I see Draco struggling with his luggage, "Bloody hell, Crabbe and Goyle left already." He talks to himself. "Malfoy, do you need help?" I ask him crossing my arms. "I don't need your bloody help." He spits and I just shrug my shoulders going to sit on the couch with Ava.

"Why would you offer help?" Draco asks trying to be like him bossy self. "Oh because I'm that odd Slytherin that's actually nice unlike you." I turn to smile at him. "Could you maybe help me?" He sounded like he forced himself to say that. "Did Draco Malfoy just ask for help?" I get on my knees turning to face him behind me and he glares at me. "I'll be back Ava." I get off the couch helping Draco with his stuff. "Why do you need to take such a big thing? The holiday isn't that long." I say walking with Draco. "I don't care." He says as we struggle up the stairs. "Question, why you staying?" He asks and I was a little off guard. "I don't feel like going home to my aunt, her husband, and my cousin. I still haven't even told them I got sorted into Slytherin. My aunt was a Gryffindor, her husband was a Ravenclaw, and Annie is a Hufflepuff. Who hasn't even tried talking to me since I started school here." I sigh.
