Old memories and faces of her parents swirled around through Meredith's mind, but she couldn't piece them together. She tried to open her eyes but she couldn't. Coldness surrounded her but yet she could not force her eyes to open.

Her parents faces loomed over herself, with their tearstained faces. Their lips moved silently to the plea 'We are not guilty' as they were dragged off to jail. She looked at them with a blank expression as they were dragged away from her.

She looked at them as she sat beside Alden and Della. Della was holding her hands tightly, rubbing comforting circles at her back while Alden was sitting with a tight-lipped expression.

Her parents were screaming that they were not guilty but not once did they ask about their daughter. After they were away from the scene, little Meredith turned to ask Della and Alden, "Will Mom and Dad not remember me?"

Della wrapped her arms around her and whispered to her soothingly, "Of course darling, they will remember you. How could they forget a girl like you?"

As the hearing ended, Della and Alden led away Meredith from the scene of the trial and present day Meredith woke up with a grasping breath.
