Michaels POV

I gasped and shot my head up as I felt something cold touch my arm. My girlfriends eyes went wide as I stared at her in shock. I didn't recognize the surroundings that appeared in my peripheral vision, so I took a quick glance around. I looked down into my lap and sighed.

"Why am I here?" I finally asked Tess.

"You don't remember anything about Monday?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. Her eyes were evident with sadness, worry, fear. I couldn't quite pin down her emotion, but it was definitely one of those- maybe all three.

"Not really," I confessed. Whenever I wake up and I'm not in my room, I question where I am. I don't remember anything, or how I ended up here.

Her eyebrows furrowed. "Well, Evan kinda found us after school in the parking lot when we were walking home. He was with his friends and he brought a bunch of people to watch beat you up. I'm sorry. I tried so much to stop him but I couldn't. I'm really sorry, Mikey," she sighed and frowned. When she looked up and recognized the confused look on my face, she planted a light kiss on my lips. "You're okay now."

I smiled. Having her try to stop me from getting hurt makes me the happiest guy, even if that means I'm the biggest dork in school that gets beat up whenever he makes eye contact with someone taller and bigger than him. "It's okay. Can we leave though? I hate hospitals. Especially this one, it smells like old people crap."

She laughed through the smile that formed on her face. "Of course. I'll just get the doctor or someone to disconnect all of those things from your arms." She pointed to wires attached to my arm with some type of tape. I tried to smile and nodded as she walked off.

"Of course not, Darth Vader would win!" Tess laughed. She took another bite out of her pizza and set her giggly eyes on me. I loved making her laugh. It was like music to my ears, and I couldn't get enough. "How do you even think Darth Maul would win?"

"Because he's badass!" I shouted, causing both of us to choke on our pizza. We were laughing so loud that people at tables around us shushed us. We both stopped laughing and glared at them, then went back to having a laugh attack.

"No he's not," Tess whispered when she settled down, probably aware that if we received another shush we could be kicked out of the pizza place. She giggled again and it made my heart flutter.

"He is," I chomped on my pizza. "Where do you wanna go after this?"

"I don't know, whenever I guess. I just love being with you," she smiled and reached for my empty hand across the table, which I gladly let her take. We sat, our hands intertwined and a slice of pizza in our free hand. We must have looked really awkward.

After finishing a few more slices, we walked out still hand in hand. We started out of the parking lot and down the street. It had only been a few hours since we left the hospital.

"Hey, how's your arm?" Tess poked the bandage that was strapped around my bicep. It kind of hurt when she did, I'm not gonna lie.

"It's okay." I answered. It was an embarrassing topic, especially since I was supposed to be the one to care more for her sake then she cared for mine. She'd witnessed me getting beat up many times before and she was the one that was always there to help me through it. "So whatcha wanna do?"

"Whatever. I'm not sure. Go to your house?"

"Sure." I smiled and squeezed her hand.

A silence fell apon us, but it was comfortable. The only sounds made were the occasional cars driving by and our feet sounding as we walked. I was always excited to be with her; she gave me confidence and happiness. Ever since my parents died in a car accident, she was there to pick up all of my pieces. She was the one that mended my heart back together. She gave me strength. She was the only thing that kept me breathing. A smiled plastered my face just thinking about the memories.

"Hey, what's your next hair colour gonna be?" She asked put of the random.

"I don't know. I'll let you pick?" I suggested. It was a current white, and I had been debating earlier wether to change it soon or not actually.

"Ooh, yay," Tess jumped and clapped her hands like a child receiving their toy that had been confiscated.

"You're cute when you're excited." We turned the corner and came closer to my house.

"Yeah? Well so are you." She planted a kiss on my nose and smiled.
