"I don't know what I did wrong. He said we should show him our abilities and that's exactly what I did. How can you fault me for this?" Zero asked, frustrated.

The Dean sighed and shook her head. She had never dealt with a situation like this, and she did not know what to do.
"The school council will decide on what your punishment will be. Meanwhile, you are to stay in your room and speak to nobody. Dinner will be brought to you."

Zeo stood up and walked out of the room. Immediately she entered the hallway, all eyes were on her. She felt the stares and judgement coming off the other students in waves, so she walked faster, hoping to get to her room without being confronted by anyone.

She could hear snippets of conversations as she walked past the students, and it seemed that they were shocked at her actions, and more than a little of them were either scared of her, or hated her.

Zeo was pacing her room worriedly. She was shocked at her actions. Although they were making fun of her, that was not an excuse to put her teacher in a hospital bed.
She was mostly worried at what her punishment would be. She did not want to be expelled.

A knock at her door startled her out of her thoughts. She rushed to open it, and was relieved to see that it was only Jade.

"I dont quite know what to make of you," Jade said, cocking her head to the side.
"You dress different from the rest of us, but your clothes are of good quality. But now I realize that it's not for the attention. I don't understand you, and it irks me."

Zeo did not know what to say. She had been expecting to be sent home, and now she was listening to her roommate, who happened to be a princess, try to understand the workings of her brain.

She opened her mouth to answer her, but realised that she had nothing to say. And before she could embarrass herself further, she saw the Dean coming down the hall.

Jade turned to see what had distracted Zeo, and when she saw who it was, she skipped into the room and shut the door, effectively making it impossible for Zeo to escape punishment.

"The  council has decided on your punishment. You will not be allowed to go on the tour of the royal city with the other first years this weekend, you will have all your meals in your room for the rest of the week, and finally, to must render an official apology to Fabian before Friday, or your punishment will be extended."

The Dean smiled at Zeo's stricken face. It had been her idea to isolate Zeo, thinking that like the other students, Zeo would not like to be cut off from her friends.

Zeo on the other hand, had a stricken look on her face not because she was been isolated, but because she had to apologize. She almost never apologized, because that would mean she had been in the wrong, and that would be extremely embarrassing.

Zeo walked back to her room. She saw jade sleeping, and decided to go to bed. She could think about her punishment tommorow.

With nothing to do after her classes, Zeo decided to go to the library and read up on everything she should have known, had she gone to school like other normal children.

She grabbed some books about the history of the school, and went to seat at a quiet place. Although many students had been ignoring her for the most part, she did not want to take any chances.

Apparently, the school was made almost seven hundred years ago by some king whose children -all twenty of them- constantly complained about  the fact that they were going to the same schools with the 'lowly subjects' (although they had their own private classes and tutors). They wanted a special school just for them, so their father built them one.

The king brought in a thousand spell casters and mages to reinforce protective spells around the school, and there was an unknown magical object buried under the school. It was the school's source of magic. Apparently, the magic was able to choose who was allowed to attend the Academy, but about three hundred years ago, the king had found a way around the magic, and started allowing the Royal children of other kingdoms to attend the academy. It was more political than altruistic, as it enabled their children to learn diplomacy and form alliances at an early age.

Zeo shut the book with a snap that had the librarian glare at her. All that reading had given her a headache, and she was feeling sleepy.

She was returning the books to their shelves, when she heard voices whispering. Curiosity got the best of her, and she paused to listen.

"We've tried all that we can, but her name keeps coming back up. It's getting harder to keep the others from believing the ruse about the scholarship."

A female voice says, "But you are in charge of sending out invitations for the Academy."

"Well, I'm telling you that I did not send one to her."

A gasp, then "Do you remember the old times when the Academy-"

The other voice cuts her out "those are myths, it never happened. You will never speak of this to anyone."

There was a short pause, and Zeo assumed that the other person was nodding.

"Good. I am going to the silver mountains to visit Veronique. The wolves tried to cause an uprising again and I have to do something about them."

The voices were getting closer, and Zeo moved out of the way as they walked past her. She was thankful that they did not notice her, but she did not see their faces, and there was no way for her to identify them.

She went back to her room, pondering on the information she heard.
She had forgotten about the scholarship, and she made a mental note to question one of her teachers first thing in the morning.

"You're a werewolf right?" Zeo asks Jade.
When she walked into her room and saw jade sitting on the bed, she knew it was the perfect opportunity to ask a few questions.

"Not really. My mum is a faerie, and I take after her. Why do you ask?"

"Well, I overheard someone talking about some wolves living in the silver mountains, and I don't know, I thought silver was bad for wolves or something."

"Where did you hear that?" Jade asked, her voice a little hostile.

"I was in the library, and I thought I should ask you about it since you're the werewolf princess."

"You're right and I'm sorry. I'll talk to my brother about this. If what you say is true, he may come to talk to you. So make yourself available."
And with that, she walked out that of the room.

Zeo looked at the door, a little bit confused. She was sure that  she had not said anything wrong, but she decided to talk to Jade about it the next day.
