Louis paced in front of his closet the next morning trying to find an appropriate outfit. He wanted to look good but without looking like he tried too hard. But now he just felt dumb for being so nervous. It wasn't like going on a date. Right? he thought. After 15 more minutes of struggling and his entire room was covered in the clothes he had thrown around, he decided to keep it simple and threw on some black jeans, a white shirt and navy jacket, and a beanie for old time's sake.

"Shit!" he exclaimed as he looked at the time and realized he was going to be late. He grabbed his white trainers and slipped them on as he ran to his car and stepped on gas. He freaked out as he slammed on his brakes in traffic and hit his head on the steering wheel, begging the cars in front of him to go faster.

After what felt like 3 hours, but was really only 17 minutes, Louis pulled into the parking lot and jumped out of his car. He looked at his watch and started running towards the spot him and Harry were meeting. As he saw Harry standing with his hands in his pockets, he slowed to a brisk and tried to catch his breath.

"Hey," Louis started breathlessly, "I'm so sorry I'm late. Traffic was fucking crazy and I left late cause I was busy overthinking my entire existence."

Louis shoved his hands into his pockets and rocked back onto his heels while chuckling nervously. He took his first full look at Harry and noticed how amazingly perfect he looked. Of course he always looks perfect, Louis thought before Harry cleared his throat and Louis realized he had been openly staring at him.

"Shit, I'm so sorry. I'm just really nervous and you look great and I look awful and I'm rambling and I'll shut up now. Sorry." Louis stuttered nervous and looked down, but his head quickly shot up when Harry laughed and covered his smile.

"Don't apologize for that," Harry answered, "It was cute." When Harry realized what he had said he gasped and shut his mouth quickly. Louis was stunned, He thought I was cute? They both stared awkwardly before Harry spoke again.

"So, do you wanna, um, talk while walking the trail?"

"Sure, why not?"

The trail was a dirt path that wound its way through the forest next to the park. Once you got past a certain point in it you couldn't hear any evidence that they were less than a mile away from a busy street. It was perfect for having a serious discussion away from people, or for a romantic date. Too bad they weren't on the second option, Louis thought and walked over to the trail.
