Three weeks of this and I was ready to kill myself. I was seriously that close to taking riptide and slitting my neck. But part of me wanted to find out what was happening. When I had gone to school I had put my sword on the sink and went to the bathroom and when I went to the bathroom it was gone. Now being enchanted it returned to my pocket but it was weird because I was the only person in the bathroom. Later I had set my skateboard down and went inside to get a soda and then when I came out it was gone. But it changed today because I almost killed my cousin.
It was a hot summer day. Annabeth and I had just finished our senior year in high school and were now going to college in New Rome in three weeks. "Percy, this won't take long will it, I want to get to camp as quickly as possible." "Hold on I'm just gonna get my sword." I rushed into my apartment. My mom and stepdad were on a date. I grabbed my sword, then I heard a scream. I ran out and annabeth was being dragged out of the building and into an ally by a man dressed in a long tunic. "Great." I said. "I think I just found my target."
I ran to the alley and found them. Annabeth was gagged and had a black eye. I was furious. This SOB had put his hands on my girlfriend. "Listen," I said "I like to know who it is I'm beating up so who are you." The Greek freak smeared at me. "I am Lykos." I shrugged. "Okay are you relevant?" I could see the anger in his eyes. "I am the son of Hermes. Messenger of Dionysus, and one of the MANY enemies of Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon." "Oh really. What did I do to you." "I don't like heroes just as my lord Dionysus doesn't. And you are the most ARROGANT hero yet! That is why I've been tormenting you over the past three weeks." I tried to steady my breathing. " That was you? Oh now I'm really going kick your butt!" "Once I rid the world of you Jackson, I will marry this half-blood!" Annabeth screamed. I attacked first. I lunged with riptide, but Lykos obviously had fought half-blood swordsman before. He easily sidestepped. He laughed. "An unwise decision Jackson!" He tossed Annabeth aside. He pulled out his sword, a gleaming nine-foot long celestial bronze blade with a golden hilt. he slashed with incredible speed and grazed my right shoulder. I grabbed my shoulder in pain. My shoulder was sizzling. "Oh yeah, forgot to mention. My sword is painted with poison." Well that's the end of me I thought. I eyed Annabeth and her eyes were wide. But not out of fear. It looked like......anticipation. If I could just free her, she might stand a better chance. At that moment, I leaped toward Annabeth and cuts her bonds, and un-gagged her. She jumped up, fury gleaming from those storm-grey eyes. "Game-on." We attacked, but it was mostly Annabeth. She hated being disabled. In other words, bad things were about to happen to Lykos. Annabeth took her bronze knife and threw it at Lykos' throat. He grabbed at it as if trying to pull it out, but it was in there so deep, there was no pulling it out. He muttered too short words to me:".............next............time...." and then he vanished in white smoke. I turned to Annabeth. "Let's get to camp. I'm sure Chiron will want to here about this."
